Hey guys. I downed a nice buck this evening for the timber rattlers. Here's the story and pics. I will enter him on the scorecard thread tomorrow. It's late, I'm beat and going to bed.

Thanks guys I appreciate the gratitudes. Here are a few more pics. It made me mad that most of them turned out blurry. Not sure why. Come on guys let get a few more on the board. Keep at it. It's amazing how 30 seconds can make your season.

Nice deer goherd, congrats. I put up a ladder stand today overlooking my large field. When i went up with the my quad and stand there were about 8 deer in the field, two spikes and the rest does. Funnyhow the deer seem to know when I don't have a weapon in my hands, they just stood there and milled about until the ladder made some noise. Hopefully the rut brings in neighboring deer to my harem of does.

Yeah baby! Way to go Chris! I'm telling ya, you hafta go even when it all looks bad! The persistance pays big dividends! Congrats on very nice buck!

How did everyone else do?

I had 12 out-of-state hunters here for Colorado's first combined deer/elk rifle season. One of the boys from Louisana score a cow on opening morning. The others had a few close encounters and a couple of missed opportunities (two misses at under 70 yards on a bull). I dropped three gents off on the top of a mountain and then drove around the side and lower to pick them up before dark. While they were walking down and I was waiting, I had two nice shooter bulls walk within 200 yards of the truck...Murphy's law. The snow is really starting to pile up in the high country. I shot a few good wildlife photos.
