Thanks guys! Should give us(and Bro's) around 110pts. What do you think about a deer lasting 20 min with a broadhead inside his heart? It's all I could think about last night.

Edit: Maybe it wasn't quite20 min but it was a stretch.

I duuno fellas...I'm burnt out! I've hunted the last 12 days straight! (after work on weekdays)

The action has ground to a halt! Does seem to be back together..chasing seems to be over. I even had an Old doe with 3 yearlings (2 BB's and a young doe). Come in Saturday at 7:30..only deer I saw ALL day. I had drawn on the BB as he and his sister walked in first. He turned and I saw he was a BB, so I swung onto his sister. Had to wait for her to clear a limb..out of the corner of my eye, on their backtrail I see more deer coming. The mother and another BB. I let down. Wait on MOM. She comes in feeds under me, finally offer a shot, she sees me..starts walking off..I draw she never gives a good shot. I let down. She didn't spook but she saw me and didn't care for the blob in the tree!

So at 1:00 I climb down with a good wind to hunt the Piebald farm. I drive over there!I get there and ALL the corn is down! Every last stalk! ..so I get there knowing I'll see nothing for 3 hrs ..and thats exactly what happens. The only thrill was the Great horned Owl that swooped in and sat in a big dead tree for a few minutes.

I'm outta the woods tonight and probably tomorrow..I've hunted hard..I've passed up chances and I really feel it's gonna be late seaon before another one come along!

Youth GUN season this weekend and I couldn't hunt Saturday anyway. Then the day after Thanksgiving, I'll be off to Camp in PA for a week of Gun season with good friends and family. It's always a ton of fun! I hunt all seasons all weapons..I'll carry an Inline rifle for the gun season. I still like to make it challenging to some extent.

Alright guys, since I messed my first Germ Warfare picture, here you go. I shot a decent 9 pt tonight, maybe 3.5 or 4.5 year old. My buddy (please excuse his ears) stuck an 2.5 year old 8pt hunting the same property, was a good day. Here is the post, must see the pic, too funny.

No worries GR8, just take it easy. Sometimes I just try so hard it never happens. Today was my 36th day in a stand. Im about burned out myself. Im looking forward to some goose hunting, you know, laying in those sleeeping bags in corn fields, hamming it up with your buds, and waiting for the birds to come in. Thats a relaxing hunt right there.

Damn Diesel..Thats some awesome day! You have some kind of gold mine down there with the numbers you see and the size bucks you guys put on the ground. Simply stunning!

Well yes and no. I think I get lucky simply based on time in the seat, and thats the honest truth. I spend hours and hours pre season scouting knowing whatbucks are hanging around usingtrailcameras, glassingetc, and days and days in stands. Percentages, odds, and luck eventually give in to just being in the woods alot.I have some guys that occassionaly hunt the same property and hardly see shooters. For example, the guy that shot the 8pt yesterday said he wanted to go, and said, "where should I hunt?"He had no idea where to set up as he hunted the same property a few times with no luck. I put him in my second favorite go to stand and he took him at 8AM. Was pure luck.

RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread

I agree with ya D and sweet 8pt btw! That's how I manage to be successful around here as well. Every year its like I have to pass on 50 dinks before I get a shot at a nice buck. And it's all about being in the right places all the time. Also Gr8, I kept a logbook for a few years and one thing I noticed as I read through previous years. You can see my exitement slowly fade as the weeks went on without closing the deal ona shooter. My enteries showed frustration and hints of almost giving up. Then turn the page and I'm entering astory of success. You got to keep spirits high and keep putting in the time. You just never know when he's gonna show. Good luck.

Rob, Thanks bud and Congrats I see you shot another one of those famous bucks! Someday you'll wipe out that gene pool:D!

Gotta cut this shortsounds like Maddox is waking up.;)

Gee thanks Mantis [&o]..I'm out there except for the occasional break, here and there, for family. You'll understand that more next year ;)..every chance I get. My work and vacation schedule isn't as flexible as some, Especially this year. I hunt as often as I can especially during the rut.

Now next Year I gain a weeks vacation, so I'll have more available time. I also HOPE I don't have to use a weeks vacationfor post surgery recuperation! So I actually gain 2 weeks. [8D]

Well last nights hunt was uneventful.. Cept for the Squirrels. I really need to go in there late season and thin them out!

I did feel very invisible though! ;)

RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread

Well, thats a good thing GR8 [8D]

You know, Ive often thought to myself, how many squirrels could I have killed from a stand? When I actually go squirrel hunting on the ground stalking, I dont seem to see nearly as many as when Im in a stand.

So who is still bow hunting?? Who is done for the year? I have several other zones I can still tag bucks in for bow and can hunt thru Jan. I'll probably use my longbow from here on out. I will be traveling around MD some, but not to much more being gun season comes in next week, and, Ive taken 2 does and 2 bucks so I could hang it up right now and be very happy with my bow season. I may even go out with the boys on opening day of gun season just for the comradery and for some pics. After that, I will be doing some goose and duck hunting. Hmmm, goose hunting with a bow? I couldnt afford it even if it was ethical lol.

RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread

Oh I'm not done..I hope to get out Sunday and a day or 2 next week..Although I have to wear blaze orange as the Youth Gun season will be in. But then I'll be done with archery until mid December.

Our season runs until around Feb 4th so I have time.

I will be Gun hunting the week following Thanksgiving. In PA at our Family Camp, should be 6 of us in Camp this year. In our hey-day we were in double digits.[&o] Time marches on.

We need to really pick up the pace if we hope to contend! This contest has been a Jinx for me..lol! Been in it 2 years and haven't gotten an archery buck in 2 years.. [:'(]

We need to hear from some of our other team members.

still here and still hunting. rifle season is still in so ive been switchin up between the hoyt and remington. no shooter sightings from stand in season yet[&o].

getting discouraged and looking for a break in some coyote and duck hunting to get me motivated again to continue sitting on stand for all this time. after so long without a big buck sighting, motivation drops off. i will be bow/rigle hunting this weekend. but then over thanksgiving break ill be doing some duck hunting and maybe mix in an afternoon or two of bowhunting.

Diesel, ive watched a video of goose hunting with a bow and it was awesome. they just waited for them to land in the spread and hunted from ground blinds so once they hit the ground, it was much like archery turkey hunting. pretty neat. to afford the arrows, they just bought some lower end arrows and shot around till they found a cheap arrow that flew true and bought 2 dozen of them.

if i was any account at all at calling i would give it a shot. i just sound like a fog horn when using the call though[:o]

Haha, I hear ya TE. It took me a while to make a sound the even slightly resembled a goose. Now Im okay at it. I have an hour drive to and from work and often entertain myself blowing my calls. You should see the looks I get when people pull up next to me, priceless!

I did make it out for the Sunday Hunt.. Had 2 BB feeding below me. Man, I have 2 doe tags expiring this week. It was beyond tempting to let the air out of 1 of them little guys. But alas I didn't!

I did see a MONSTER of a Nontypical Saturday about 4pmon the edge of town as I was running to pick up some take-out Chinese. Awesome deer plus he had to go 250 lbs easy. I got out of the truck and glassed him for a good 10 minutes. Backwards kickers ..he had it all. Plus he stood there maybe, maybe, 50 yards off the road. I coulda launched a couple at him with no problems..cept the legalities of no permission! He was something though!

I.m easing on in here because you havn't heard the best prt yet , my 80's tecno camara was like a light saber in the hands of my photographer , a pilgrim "Amish man" was the only one in the area. He was not as excited about these event as I was.[:o]

Photo quality could be questionable at best. [8D]

Pilgrims are like Indians they don't like their picture taken. And apparently them taking pics is taboo also , but I got him to try. I don't have the results yet but I'm hoping for the best.:)

He wouldn't let me take a picture of his horse either, but he had no trouble accepting the "twenty bucks"for dragging it out.;)
