Still Havent seen a shooter buck yet, im not worried yet though. I've only been out 4 times since the 1st. School is having to come first this season. I will try to be more diligent about posting when i do go out. Best of luck.

Johnnyslim, You should start to see those shooters your looking for.
The next 3 weeks should have them up and moving at all hours of the day.
Keep your nose to the grindstone with school and enjoy you weekends in the Great Outdoors.
I'm sure there will be a pay-off. Good-Luck!

Hey Dan, You said you were holding out for a 140" or better.
That would put us in a solid second place. First place is around 357.

Come on Team 8, lets get out there and find those big boys.

Christine, That sure is a fine buck that Justin got.
Did you film it? Now it's your turn right.
Can you tell us a little about how he got it.
Thanks, Scott

Well, no dice so far. The bucks are not moving up here yet. The biggest I saw in 5 days out in the bush was about 130". I'm back at camp now and am heading down the lake in the morning to set up a stand for me and the camera man that is TORE up......it is every year, but I have never bow hunted it yet. It should be rockin in a few days.

On a side note, I missed a white wolf on Tuesday with the bow.....we'll see if it makes the video.

Good luck to all and I'll keep you posted.

I've gotten two does since I shot the dink 'buck'.

Saw a real nice ten pointer last Friday. He never came closer than 40 yards. Maybe this week I'll get lucky.

Scott, we did get some awesome footage of Justin's buck. After he shot his buck a bigger buck came in and stood around giving us multiple shot opportunities. Of course, I didn't have a bow and Justin just shot his buck. Oh well, we got good video of him too. Even had a buck snort wheeze right in front of us. Justin is working on getting the video online. I'll let you know when it's there.

It's Prime Time Guys. Where are the bucks?

Nice mature does Christine. Definitely confidence builders.
I wish you would have had you bow when you were filming Justin.
Oh well, theres probably a bigger one with your name on it.
I can't wait to see the footage you mentioned.
The bucks are definitely chasing does around here and in Ohio.

Good Luck and Shoot Straight to All.

Hey guys, I filled my first IL buck tag. I know he's not the giant you were hoping for, but he's my biggest buck so far and I couldn't be happier with him.

He's a standard issue 2.5 year old buck. One brow tine is broke off. I have no idea what he'll score. Maybe 90"?

I didn't get nice in-the-field photos since I was by myself and it was all I could do to get him back to the truck. I wasn't sure about my shot so I waited an hour and a half before going after him. Happily he only went 60 yards. The coyotes had already started snacking on him in that amount of time. [:@]
