That's an awsome buck Dan. She might hunt her whole life and not be able to top that. Great to see your sharing the hunting heritage with your wife.
I don't think she will forget that experience.

Now go out and get his Daddy so we can take the lead.

Hey Guys,
Have you been seeing any bucks? The pre-rut should be starting.
I'm headed back out to Ohio this weekend. My luck I'll probably see a much bigger buck than I got.
Good Luck to all. Primetime is almost here.

I thought I saw a small buck trailing a doe. I also thought I shot the doe... [:-]

Turns out it was a runt buck. Oh well, he tastes yummy and I'm thinking he probably wasn't going to ever amount to much. [8D]

Don't worry, he falls just short of a legal antlered buck in IL, so there's still a chance I'll come up with a real score for the team. I hope.

Otherwise, I haven't seen much buck activity.

Christine...Glad to see you got a deer.
I did the same thing about 6 years ago. I thought I shot the big doe.
I made a perfect 35 yard shot and it went 30 yards and piled up.
As I approached it I noticed the little pencil antlers sticking up.
To my misfortune it was considered a legal buck in PA. I was very frustrated.
Now go get his Daddy!

I'm guessing that the lack of communication of our Team is due to the diligence of our members pursuing monster bucks.
My dad got a buck in Ohio last Friday that scored 126. He shot it from the same stand I shot mine 2 weeks earlier. That's the 3rd buck from that stand it 2 years but it took me 2 years to hone in on that stand placement.
How is everyone doing? The Pre-Rut should be in full swing. Are you seeing any shooters?

I went out three times earlylast week. I was on an antlerless only area. I saw a zillion does but they stayed on the wrong side of the fence. [:@]

Have been too busy to go last weekend.

Tomorrow HNI Justin and I will be headed down to southeastern IL to participate in the Campbell's Outdoor Challenge. I hope to catch him smoking a big buck on camera. Maybe, just maybe, I'll score on a buck too.

Christine, Good Luck with Cambell's Outdoor Challenge.

Here is a pick of my dad's buck he got last Friday the 19th.
It scores 126. Not bad for a 8 point and a 20" spread.

I'm heading out on Friday for 6 nights in the bush. I'll sit the first couple of days, maybe, and then try to lay down a gagger from the ground in front of the camera. It should be interesting. After that, I head back out of the bush to camp and I'll hunt around there until the 10th. I should lay down a good one during that 2 weeks...I have some great spots. I'm holding out for 140 or better, so cross your fingers.

Good luck to the rest of you and hopefully I'll have some pics to post the end of next week!!!!
