Heading out for right now for the first time in 6 days.

I've got a good feeling about the weather and the stand (at least for a doe).

It's the only time I left my camera at home so maybe that means I'll be letting one fly.

Also wanted to try out some of these great new avatars.

All I've been seeing is young bucks like these little whippersnappers traveling/feeding under one of my stands this past weekend. Saw a doe and nice lookinglittle 5x5 this evening.

Well at least if there is a bunch of them around, you'll be looking real good in a couple of years when they grow up.

RE: 43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Congrats John on the big nanny!
What's that, about 8 does for our team? GMMAT - 6, Germ - 1, John - 1.

Typical outing for me last night = nothing. This local area I'm hunting was so good last year (I only
went bowhunting there twice and missed one) and this year since Oct. 1 with 2-3 people hunting
fairly regularly = 1 doe shot at and killed. It is hotter this year, but that probably isn't the
only reason, there's a lot of logging right around this property.

Troy, just send your scrub 5x5's down south, please. [8D]

Anyway, pumped about heading down south for the weekend. Got a small (by you guys standards)
buck I've been eyeing that is moving during the day. That and I have a good acorn stand to
hunt the first morning.

I'm not saying I'm gonna be the trigger man, but I think come Monday Team Chaos is going to
have a buck on the board.

Ok weekend plan

Friday evening hunt- Looks like wind out of SW, so I will be were I shot the doe. I hope the beans are still in

Saturday Morning - Wind is out SW I will be in Bedding area where i saw sleepy until noon. Eat lunch on the river in my boat. Then I will be in Cherry Tree Stand rest of the day.

Sunday will be a new stand, all day. Here it is, LOL

I have never killed a deer here, I used to hunt on the end of this big ditch as I call it. My tree died. There are two well used trails about 30 yds in front of the one you see in the picture. I like the trails less travled on;)

LebeauHunter 10-17-2007 10:11 PM

RE: 43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Germ, sounds like a plan.

That area looks like God created it just for big ole bucks to meander through. :D

Due to better weather this time - lows in the mid 50s and highs in mid 80s (yeah, unfortunately that's
a lot better especially on the lows), I will also be hunting two new, unhunted stands put up a couple
months ago. Gotta like that. Nobody's hunted in two weeks out there, so things should be pretty good.

I will be pretty disappointed if I don't come back Monday with something to report, even if its
to join the Nannywhacker club.

Just checking on the team-Congrats on ya jmbuckhunter on the great heart shot!!! Way to put them down!! Its been real wet here rain and more rain. The bucks here are moving more now but the corn......! Corn Corn all around me. The farmers cant get the corn crops out because of the rain. Seeing lots of does and their little ones. I did get some video of a little button buck licking my latter stand and a couple of little bucks play fighting in the creek the other night. I think that I will be able to get back out tonight if the weather man is right. Go and gettem team GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY RUTTING GUYS!!!

RE: 43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Thanks huntinlady.

We have the opposite problem around here. We are bone dry, all of the crops have been out in these parts. We did get a little rain last night, but are still 5 inchs below normal.

I am hoping to get back to IL this weekend. And maybe a little huntin around the house too.

Checking in.....

I haven't been in my best morning oak flat since I took one and hit one last Tuesday. I told Rob, today....I'm not going back in there until he gets here (he's coming the weekend of 11/16-11/17. I'm not going back into my honey hole OR the "BEST" spot until then, too. I'll hunt the fringes and take what it gives me. I'm convinced I can take care of both season goals if I play my cards, correctly.

I'll be back at it, Saturday. Gonna move up the line from where i found the dead doe about 100yds.....where I've only hunted, once, this season. Maybe a buck will be trailing a doe, early.....or maybe he'll come looking for some acorns on his own. I'll still take a doe, here. I won't be taking any more does in my best spots. Too late for that.

I feel like I'm in a good position. I'll feel REALLY good about it if I can take another doe, this weekend. Nothing's a given, though.

Almost forgot.....I'll be in PA, next week (thurs, fri & Sat) with Rob/PA; Q2inwhitetails (Kurt); Rick James (Matt); Matt/PA; KIDD (Frank)and possibly APA Jaws. I'd love for the guys hunting to take something while I'm there. I'd be JUST as happy if it was one of them. Maybe moreso. I get my chances.

Good luck to all. I'm rooting for all of you!:)

Checkin' in -

Gary, Good luck in that new stand this weekend, sounds/looks like a great place. I like your all day (pretty much) in the stand efforts. I need to do the same here. The old bucks really like moving at mid day when most hunters leave the woods. I am going to pull an all day sit Sat in my mountain top saddle treelounge.. right above my mock scrape thats getting wicked business as of tuesdays check.

Will, good luck bud, any time I leave a spot alone for two weeks.. I almost always see good movement.

Jeff, good luck, I like your game plan for your home area. Good luck in PA too!

Huntlady.. Sounds like its a matter of time for you!

John, keep after em bud, hopefully you'll bust a bucks ticker this weekend..

Flst, Arrow and Tlutter.. best of luck this week guys...

I drove seperate from my wife today so I can race to my 2nd fruthest area to hunta standthe first time all season! I will report in tonight if anythinghappens by..

Troy

I am taking the day off of work tomorrow. I just need a day away from the MADNESS there.I really need a new job! I am going to hunt till around 10:00 or so around the house, then butcher up my doe from the other night. I have had her in my buddies cooler since I got her.

Then the plan is to go to IL on Saturday and sit on afunnel leading to a small but nasty thick bedding area. There is a thin patch of woods that connects the big woods to this overgrown ditch that the deer love to bed in. It is only a couple of acres in size, butI always see bucks checking it out during the rut and cruising thru it. There were a bunch of rubs in there last week, so there may be a buck bedding there too.

ROCK ON TROY!

I don't know scoring like the Germinator, but that thing has got to be a lot bigger than 150".

The tine length on your bucks always amaze me. We have short stubby antlers - like the Cajuns. :D

Germ,

I've hunted near beans and from what I've seen right after harvest they leave a lot of spilt beans and
pods, and the deer usually stay in there pretty heavy for a little while after harvest.

Just trying to be uplifting and inspirational - did that help? :D

No, LOL

The issue is the neighbors beans are still in, I thought we rented to the laziest farmer in MI:D
Well Wind is out SW so I will be there tonight. Hunting next to 7 white oaks with 0 acorns and a cut bean field[8D]

Do not take this the wrong way.

I will never use
Bait
Calls
or Scents.

I want to beat him at his own game, I have 3 small food plots. I do not hunt near any of them, because I never see any damn deer in them[&:] We have too much food around me.

As soon as I put anyting out, the gig is up, and he can stay across the river and eat all the beans and corn he wants;)

GMMAT 10-19-2007 09:09 AM

RE: 43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Funny, Gary....

The farmer to my south cut his beans, this week. I was on the phone with Rob, yesterday when I rode by. I think I squealed like a girl when I saw he'd cut them.

They gott come onto my side, now, to eat.....once they eat up all the acorns in their bedroom. I'm predicting I start seeing a few bucks, now........and I hope I'm right. Like I said....I still will hunt the fringes until mid-Nov.....and I'll still take a doe on the fringes.

No beans, for me, = more deer looking for alternate food sources. They have a reason now to come on my side.

Did I say congratulation, Troy enough?.....lol:D

CONGRATS, TROY!

LebeauHunter 10-19-2007 09:14 AM

RE: 43- Official Team Chaos Thread

Germ,

I was gigging you. :D

We don't bait/feed either, but we do have clover and food plots and I'm not above hunting a food
plot or a trail to it.

I also plan to use a little estrous during/around rut - this doesn't usually bring in the biggest
deer, but with a bow I'm just not there yet. Give me a couple years. ;)

Germ 10-19-2007 09:18 AM

Sorry to disappoint you guys but he doesnt score real big.. LOL hes 144 4/8 gross... I thought this summer he would make 150.. but not quite..he's basically a 4x4 with 1 inch g-4's.. hes weak in the browtines too..everything else hes really real decent..

Man, no one is disappointed! I'm all pumped up for this weekend.

I still can't believe in looking at the pictures that thing is less than 150". Maybe you are more honest
than other scorers. [8D]

Too bad there aren't any points for style! It's a lot prettier than our swamp thing bucks.
