I average around 100 pics a day. I'll hunt this weekend, and until tuesday or so for a nice buck, then its going to be fill the freezer time. rifle starts in 2 mondays.

i went again on wednesday and nothing once again. but iom going in the early am and i know what time the does come through almost exactly and i think there will be bucks chasing them. so im pretty pumped.

Well I finally put a doe on the ground. The wind is still crazy though. I had a doe and 2 fawns come out downwind of me for10 minutes and they did not wind me until I put a peppermint candy in my mouth. A minute later they all snapped there heads up looking my direction and then take off. I can't believe how slow the hunting is this year. I have never seen so few deer in the 15 years I have been hunting here. Gun season opens Saturday so the next buck under my stand is getting a little SILENT ENTRY.Good Luck Guys

i thought for sure i was gunna bag a good buck becuz for around 30-45 minutes me and about 4 or 5 bucks were grunting back and for non-stop every second and none came within sight. but some got close then later i saw lots of does and a 2 came within 6 yards to me. and a 5 point came within 7 yards. and i saw a mother feeding her fawn milk. i think this was like my most memorible day of hunting

Hey Team
Was a tough 1st full day on the stand with 50 mile an hour winds and a high of +8 but felt like -10 with the wind. I saw 6 and my bud from BC saw 7. The winds were howling and we were hanging on,LMAO. I drew on a one thinking it wasa mature doe but it ended up being a 2x1 buck. It's been 3 times out now and no bucks are foloowing does still????? What's up?

I should actually be able to get in some hunting here coming off. Been realll busy with school and all.

Wed night I'm going to the Garth Brooks contest so that should be pretty awesome. Thanksgiving break starts Saturday so I got a week and a half to get out and hunt the tail end of the rut.

The Weather

Well team I can't get out today gue to the wind,gusting from 40kms an hour to 100kms wich is equal to 60miles. I'm not hugging a tree ,sorry.Might be ablt to get out for an evening hunt,supossed to calm down to 45kms by then.:(

Long time no see bud,welcome back to the team[8D]. We missed ya. Well guys I actually took a chance and my bud and I went and sat for the evening and it actually wasn't to bad for 5o kms winds as they came out onto the field and were cut down substantialy from the bush. Saw two does as I walked out onto the field ,then nothing until I was about to lower my bow and I saw antler coming through the same opening as the big buck I shot and lost last Friday night[:@]. I drew and waited as the deer wasn't sure what he was smelling,then he stepped into my shooting lane and I thought where'd the antler go?? LMAO He was just a 2x2 and actually walked right up to where I hopped the fence. Still not seeing the bucks tending grunting or following does yet. Should be any day though. The weather is actually going to get warmer for the weekend[:'(]. Then early next week it turns colder.:eek:.
I'll drop in tomorrow night as always, and fill ya's in on what's happening. Good luck and shoot straight .

I set up on my new stand tonight and only have a 15 yd shot. Well, I get setup and wait and about an hour from dark i hear a stomp and a blow behind me, the only spot I didnt need the deer to come in from. I turn around to see a 200 plus pound deer ( a mature deer for around here ) I never got to look at the antlers, but the only mature buck around here currently is a big 9 point that i watched not 100 yards from there the night before last. I have to go back and reposition myself. I will update accordingly.[8D]:D

Hey team, I have been able to get out for a few days and shot a doe this past Thursday. Just haven't been able to hunt that much or get on here due to work and projects around the house. Some bad news though-- a buck that my friend and I were hunting got hit by a car Sunday.[&o] A nearby farmer has been picking his corn lately and may have run the buck out with his combine. The guys that are helping me re-side my house were going to town to lunch and passed by after the deer was hit. They said it was one of the biggest they had seen and was around 24" wide. The people that hit it claimed it and took it home. Hopefully he wasn't the only big boy out there. I'll try to be back out this weekend.

Well Well
Not sure whats happening here,but the deer aren't with the boys yet. Had a lone doe go bye at 8am and nothing till 3pm. Then it was only a buck tending grunting. Had 2 more go bye the same way then at 4till 4:30 had a 120 4x4 hanging around but didn't give me a shot. Buddy had him at 5 yards and passed, I was going to take him for the meat as I have another tag also.
Depends on the wind for tomorrow as my bud doesn't believe in Scent blocker ,so I have to doitright him??? Hopefuly it'll work out tomorrow,as he he's hoping to be home for Thursday night for a big free for all bash. I don't think sooooo ,LMAO.Glad I still have another week to hold off cause now I'm going to start taking the does for the meat also for my kids as I can have 2.. Talk to ya's tomorrow and be safe and God Bless.

Worst Day Yet

Man was it bad today for me,got out late but still got onstand before light. LOL. Then never saw a animal till 12:30. I got out and picked up my bud and headed over to the field where we new their were does. As we were walking inI saw a monster buck thatI thought would be over 200. We'll I was pumped and as soon as I got situiated in my stand I started agressivley with the buck growl. Wow he's coming on a run! All of a sudden he blows and takes off. I blow back to calm him ,but he was gonzo. That was it for my night no deer sightings and same for my bud that I put in my honey hole.At least he saw 2 bucks in the am[:o].Well he's got tomorrw and 1/2 a day Saturday to get at least a 150 buck,can I do it??? We'll see,but I'm thinking no,as their still not in full rut. !!!! I got next week so I'm not to worried,just my bud is what I care for now.
Get this he gets a long distance phone call at 2:30 am here from his wife,she's scared sick as she just shoed a black bear cub out of her kitchen with a rubber maid top that came in and started eating the dog food, LMAO. Well the warden was out and caught him the 3rd time trying to get back in. He has a doggie door that it got in through. They had to put it down as the rest of the bears are in hibernation,this one thought it was still nice out.Go figure.Talk to you's tomorrow night.

Terrible Start To A DAy

Well guys I dropped my partner of at 6:30 and headed to my honey hole and I looked and looked and looked. Light was starting to show and finally I found the tree and Dang it. Someone stole my stand,well what can I do but look to my other ole reliable,it's gonzo too. Now I'm ticked. Well I go back to where I was on Monday and at noon we give up. I saw a button buck at 8:20 ,so I tell my bud the bad news and of we head to a new location.
Get on stand by 2:20 and nothing ,till it's almost time to go and I hear grunting coming down the tree line about 400 yards away. I grunt back with a few doe estrus bleats to boot. This buck is on a michan.He's getting closer and the sunlight is almost gone. I hear him tearing up a willow across the field now at 70 yards. I buck growl with a few more doe bleats and he's heading my way. I grab the bow and get ready. He holds up midfield at 50 yards and turns broadside and I lower my bow andI can't do it.Too dark as he turns back towards where he came from. Great deer ,very tall tines and a 5x5 to boot ,guessing he'd go 18o's. Other than that a very depressing day.Will keep ya's informed tomorrow night . Be safe out their guys and God Bless.

I shot a doe tonight...I'll try to put up some pics when I get them. She was a nice biggin. My rifle tag I was bowhunting on expires tomorrow so I took her. Major cold front hitting the midwest Wed and thurs so hopefully I'll have a crack at a nice buck.

Sorry for the silence fellas, I've been away at our camp in WV doing some gun hunting. No luck though, the only shot i had was during a drive and i missed a buck (looked to be about 100inches, nothing huge but very respectable for that area). My nephew and dad both connected so it was a fun trip for all. Keep at it guys, its not over yet.

managed to shoot a real nice public ground 6 point this morning, but it was with my rifle.[:-]

Needed some more deer meat, and figured since I could shoot a doe or buck, I'd pop one then get back to bowhunting.

Can't download a picture and canceled my story, LMAO. I shot a Dank tonight,scored 75,It's the smallest deer I have ever shot by 62inches. I haven't shot a deer due to it's size for 3 years cept the 190ish one I lost earlier this year. But ,I must resay that but,their's a story to it that makes it's special. I'll save that for when someone helps me to upload it to the site. LOL Thanks guys . Hunt safely and be safe. God Bless.
