I just fired offan emailto mibowhuntr to see if he plans to participate. His last post was to sign up for this contest, but he does have a few posts for each of the last 3 months. Lets give himanother day or so before we have Rob give us an alternate. Since there were no objections to the name, I'll go ahead and change the title of our thread to include it. I've got a little over a week before I hit the woods, and hitting this site is about all thats keeping me sane while I'm sitting behind a desk, so lets keep this thread going!

GOOD NEWS[8D]. I just received the approval this weekend to hunt a farm about 3 miles from home. It is about 200 acres and has not been hunted on in 3-5 years. The connecting property on one side has never been hunted and the other side is cut Corn. The property is mostly CRP field s with a few nice timber sections.

I went out glassing the connecting Corn Field last night and seen 50-75 Deer in the field......I lost count! Only two shooters tho two nice 8 pts on in velvet and one out. They look to be in the 150 range each with 20 inch spread or better. I will take the Video and Camera tonight and try and send ya all some pics Thursday......I am Pumped.....

Oh yea, I just bought 6 New arrows and tipped them with Muzzy 100gr 4 blades and my New Yellow Jacket target is screaming for help![:-]

Well, I have some not so good news, but not devistating, yet... 2 Sundays ago I was practicing shooting from my tree stand. I took a bunch of shots at different ranges and different angles from sitting and standing positions. I took one sitting shot a bit off to the right, and thought I had limb clearance, but when I let it fly SMACK. I nicked my cam on the stand. It was bent ever so slightly, barely noticeable, so I kept shooting and kept an eye on it. I could see that the serving was wearing slightly, and I had my pro shop try to fix it. I left it there last week, and just picked it up yesterday. Did a little broadhead practice today, then took a few shots at the range at their shop prior to shooting my video league. I know I have to keep an eye on the serving of the cable where the damage was, so I did check and noticed its still wearing there, slightly. They are gonna call BowTech tomorrow to try and get a new cam, but my bow has been out of production for 2 years. I hope I can get the part. Since its not so bad, I'm going to still shoot, but checking frequently. I have one more week left for the league, and I'm going to take a bowhunter proficiency test this sunday (I don't need the test to hunt where I hunt, but I like to keep my options open). If I can't get a replacement cam and the serving is wearing bad, I can have the cable re-served to keep me going thru the season. I suppose it could be worse, but still not a good situation.

Ok lets give it a try. I got Video of the bucks on the connecting property lastnight but no pics so I tried taking pics from the TV. Here goes.

I seen one of the WIDE 8ts the one in velvet. The other did not come out. I also seen another average 8 as you will see. There was about 10 bucks total in the field and only one was coming out of velvet it looked cool he had trash hanging all around and red on his antlers.

Buck442, you have some awesome possibilities. I just got off the phone with my pro shop, I should have a new cam in about a week. I'm still shooting with the old one, but keeping an eye on it. I should be good (crossing fingers) until I can get the new one installed. I have my plans for opening day and the following day (next fri and sat) coming together, hunting 2 different areas with 2 different buddies, one spot on public land and one on private. I better go fishing tomorrow morning to help me get through this next week because all I can think about is climbing that tree!

I regret to inform your team of the recent addition of Mazur1. I am truly saddened for your gain.

My grandma is available as an alternate if your team wants to try for a win!

Thanks Rob, PM sent to Mazur1. And thanks for your sympathies Duke, but I think your grandma might be an unfair advantage for us. You best keep her for your team, you may need her!
