ok now that i finished my computer homework i can go back to getting excited again...for a minute..then studying for the midterm...

i just scored your buck...the numbers came back and this is what i got:

awesome buck germ...thats an awesome rack...16pts and its almost TYPICAL!..well..a very typical frame and pretttty dang symetrical side to side...thats wild. dont see that too often in them big ole boys with points all over!! and that mass is awesome...clear out to the tips...even the TINE tips!! thats a hawg man! congrats!!! cant wait to see the numbers. is that your biggest?? i hope you didnt have to drag him far...that thing is a PIG...i cant get over how FAT the legs look.

ok...sorry guys busy week ahead...time to continue studying for the midterm(about 6-8hrs in already!)...test tomarrow night with the projects due i just finished, midterm tues 8am, quiz at 1pm wed and a test at 5pm....fire training thur-sunday...after that i dont know if ill leave my treestand. monday will feel SOOOO good to be sitting in a tree it wont be funny. being the RUT and the LAST WEEK i might NOT leave that tree lol. i hope i dont let you guys down...but you guys agreed with me in the beginning..school first..hunt second..breath 3rd:D lol. just sucks that my BUSY week is this week...but the last week should be a good un..

I was telling Rob last night..........here' how the conversation went when germ called me:

Jeff - "Hello"

Gary - "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine (I think he paused for breath about right here)......ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen)

Jeff - "Huh?"
Gary - "Sixteen POINTS"

It was a one-sided, sickening ensemble of man-love from that point forward that had my wife raising her eyebrows a time or two.....lol.

Great bird! I keep seeing the smoke grey hen when I'm deer hunting.....but she's absolutely untouchable in my county. We don't have a winter either-sex season in my county.....and Spring is gobbler-only. She'll never see an arrow.

I saw5 cool things while spending 9 hours in the woods on Saturday. In the morning.....I hunted the 10 acre patch of woods where I took my piebald. I didn't see a deer.....but I took a very short walk and saw the coolest tree I've ever seen. I'll post photos of it after the season. I want a picture of Lisa and I by that tree.

In the afternoon.....I was in the same tree I shot my buck out of. I saw a BIG hawk to my right in the afternoon. I then saw the smoke grey turkey hen I've been telling you guys about. THEN.....I saw a BEAUTIFUL owl that swooped in and roosted 4' off the ground on a deadfall. He was black and it looked like he had on a butler's uniform. I went home....got out our bird book....and pegged him for a screech owl. We have Bard owls in our woods (and I love to hear their banter back and forth), but this was the first time I've seen one other than the Bards. It sat 15 yds from me......below me......and then swooped over to where I'd been watching a squirrel. Dinner. I saw 5 does......and two of them went to the EXACT spot where I shot my buck on 9/30......and ate acorns from the same little tuft they'd pushed aside to get to the acorns. I thought that odd.....being as the IMMENSE amount of acorns that are on the ground. 3 deer inside 20 yds.......but it's too close to prime-time for me to infect the area with too much of my scent....and a recovery. I slipped out.....and I'll slip back in next Saturday.

I also put my trail cam out on the new 10 acre woodlot I gained access to. We'll see. I may check it on Thursday or Friday.....and decide what to do about Saturday. Saturday......I'm going to sit ALL DDAY for the first time, ever. Wish me luck.

G, thanks for the picture from the back, I love those shots and they never look more impressive than as they walk away, of course that's the worst view you actually want to see tho.

Jeff, I'm in the cheering section with you bro and G's joining us, you other 7 guys, we got yer back, keep it up, your all on deer.

MM, Deer Porn,;) I've only ever seen that with a spotlight, was kinda like a broadway show with the lights.

Brent, good to hear from ya, house the tree sit and stares going?

Alright guys, I can't wait to enter G's buck, what brute, Porky as Jeff affectionately name him, he's a pig with a lot of stickers to a well deserved bowhunter.

I'm still pumped from Jeff's buck, then mine brought me up a peg, now G's monster, I can hardly breath, which one of ya's are gonna be next?

DANG.. That's one heck of a deer! Congrats Germ...awesome!

First SB, then Rob, now Germ... who's next? Some deer are really gonna fall this upcoming weekend.

I've seen nearly 10 different bucks over the past week. Only one of particular size, but it's only a matter of days before the bigger deer really start to move.

Congrats again Germ, you(and Rob), shooting bucks over the past couple of days really has got me pumped for my next hunt!

I hear ya, Duke. I'm as pumped, right now......as I was before opening day. AND....I've got more places to hunt, now!

Oh yeah.....Mauser......them ugly axx birds will be there in the Spring. Can't you just hunt 'em with a bow.....in case a buck steps out?????
