Saw another monster yesterday morn, Kurt got him on tape...

Just a one horn spike last night,

This morning Kurt's brother missed a six while Kurt and I filmed two seperate angles...we're busting his balls. lol

Rut is either not happening in that particular spot or it's all at night, no deer movement hardly at all...it's not right, warm weather, coming out of a full moon. Next week's warm too but our season end tomorrow.

rob i hear ya...between the heat and the moon we cant win!! though i cant complain. i caught ONE day of action...this morning. we reallllly need a week longer....id give up TWO early weeks to hunt NEXT week. i just dont see their reasoning...sure let the deer do their thing...thats great..but guess what...we put down the bows and pick up shotguns to chase turkeys and small game! maybe one day we will see it....

crying about the weather. ill be lucky to see the woods tomarrow. no sense getting soaked when i know i wont even draw even if i had a shot. just cant put myself to take a shot in an all day nasty rain with the bow. still gunna wake upat 5 and see what its doing..but it dont look good..

We were out this morning, didn't see a hair. I listened to all the radio chatter as well since it's the weekend and most of the chatter was saying the same thing, movement at first light and then nothing.

thats wierd rob....im kinda convinced the weather and moon is screwing our rut. though i seen activity yesterday it wasnt spectacular..one buck chasing a doe. one buck sniffing a doe then LEAVING 2 does to wander around...definently more movement but not great yet[:'(] headed out now to sit for the evening. didnt go out this AM..well i got up at 5..drove to my spot and it let loose. i just cant make myself shoot a deer in the pouring rain. looked at the radar before i left and it looked like i was between systems..but i wasnt..but im going to see what i see i guess.....if im 100% in the shot i may take it...but we will see....

well it was a washout. headed to yet another new spot. talked to the farmer friend before that and he said i should go there..i was heading there anyways..said noone been seeing much of anything in all my normal spots. guys chasing them in trucks at night, small game hunters etc got them pushed out and holding tight. sat till about 4..downpour came through and washed me out. sat through a good bit of it...soaked me clear to my boxers! which is amazing..2 pairs of pants and 3 tucked in shirts the rain went through....yep it was rainin hard! was going to suck it up till dark...but a crack of lightning sent my down my buddys ladder stand running for the truck. i was in the biggest tree around and in a metal ladder stand....yep..not happening in a storm! ohhhhh well. i got ONE last hope....after xmas. ive seen deer in my orchard in the late season before...going to try that and see what i see...ill probably do a bit of bowhunting in the late season...but it aint nearly as good as the EARLY season..just to many gunhunters taking deer and pushing the rest into peoples garages.....

A great season non the less captain, PA's bow season comes to an end. Like you said, if you don't tag out in lead slinger season, you have post Christmas late season. It can be good then in the right spot.

Captain I shot 1 buck late season here in MI, a doe was in heat late. Find the doe's let the bucks come to you.

Dec 7th, 8th, 9th should be your best days for finding a doe in the 2nd rut!!

Germ, our late seasons starts the day after Christmas and runs 3 weeks....it's all about food sources again and getting very lucky.

Wow I did not know that, we start up Dec 1st!!

Ohio goes to the End of Nov!!

Then 15th thru Feb 4th, I will be hunting all of Jan on the land I might lease.

ya id consider myself VERY lucky to take a doe in the late season. i hunt that season with the flintlock and its rough to see anything on stand. hit or miss. one day the deer are there all herded up..but know they ate everything and are gone. plus after a PA rifle season even the squirrels are nocternal! not saying the deer dont move in the day..find the right food on the right day and robs right..youll see deer and probably a good bit of deer..but around here late season=houseing developments..but ill still give it a shot in the mornings before the flintlock drives.

i close my first season very satisfied and consider it a success. i read posts on a PA hunting site and theres seasoned bowhunters not seeing half of what i seen my FIRST season. and ill be straight up and honest..i didnt do the homework i should have. with college AND work all season i didnt expect to see the stand half as much..i over hunted stands..hunts bad areas that looked better then they were..heck..broke down and hunted spots i speed scouted at school. not to worry..lesson learned..already figuring out ways to refine my spots for next year...

so i close the season seeing 4 illegal bucks. 8 does, and 1 legal buck which if he didnt duck would be one my wall. not because he was a MONSTER..but a respectable buck and my first with the bow. learned alot my first year and think i did pretty good for a greenhorn.

good luck guys...many of you are still hunting...ill still be around but out of the woods for 2 weeks...well...out of the deer woods...the new "friend" wants to go chase bushy tails between now and then..we will see...still dont know about the whole situation...i hate situations like the one im in lol.
