thanx guys. awesome advice. you guys are like books. your the next best thing rught under actual expirience..i know nothing can replace that..im definently learning ALOT.

MM..good luck moving.....i HATE moving lol. i plan to move ONE more time in my life and thats IT..thatll be OUT of my parents house! lol. its just a major PITA...so the trick is to stop t he deer but dont alert the deer. kinda what i was thinking. just get them to stop.

dad told me today before i left always aim from the heart. if i dont bend at the waist i may hit high AND if the deer ducks ill catch lung or at worst spine instead of what i did.....above the spine. im just afraid to aim TOO low. when i released on that buck i let the pin settle about low dead center. it would took the center of the first lung, all the arteries off the top of the heart and then the second lung. i guess im afraid to aim low because of the small target? when hitting a deers heart at 15-20yds would be very doable by me. and if i hit high i still got what? half a foot or so of lung to back me up...if i hit low itll be a miss.

im ready to get back out there..a little wiser now..something like that is something you can never really teach or tell someone..just something that happens and you gota learn from.

HniJustin, what I tell you and the truth when I deer hunt usually are 2 different things. I only tell you half of the big deer I see.

Why? Cause does it really matter if I don't get a shot? I don't think it does. And frankly, I've always been just too damn lazy to explain myself when I deer hunt.

Will do Rob! It's looking awesome already and I haven't evenmovedany heads inyet[8D]

Germare you trying to pin a nickname on me:DLOL. Just an FYI, I failed 10th gradeenglish 3 times and 11th once. My old bag teachers would laugh to death if theyread that!

mauser the deer I shot in Missouri was nine yards from my tree and I put my 20yd pin at the lower body line below the heart. (so my pin was aiming at leaves and hair. That deer dropped a little and with the angle I still hit what looked like a high shot, but was actually perfect double lung.

All for now gotta make another trip. Can't hunt tomorrow, I have appliences being delivered that would've paid for one hell of a lease!

I am sending Justine a note to change my name to Germ:)

I love it
When I get the sponsor deal, my tag line will be
The Germ infects another Ohio Monster with his Montec 125, like bacteria in your bath room the Germ went undetected is his Enigam camo. There is only one thing can stop the germ, yes my X-scent base layer, stops oder in its tracks.

The Germ, he is one deadly hunter!!

Agreed Germ, I want stock in that..lol

Captains log: 10-18-06 What an evening. I went to the Pin oak stand at the end of the CRP field 200 yards from the food plot. Around 6:00 I spotted a deer, a buck..ah the 8 point from the last 2 nights. I started talking to him and stirred emotions deep inside his brain. He was urinating on his tarsals and tearing up a shrub, tore it up! He kept looking toward the woods and walked away to the food plot all the while scraping and urinating. I grunted and contacted call with my River Valley Deer Flute.

He paused staring into the woods on the other side of my food plot. Wouldn't you know it, directly under my stand, a monster walks out. He was 18 plus wide, not many long points but high sweeping main beams and he dwarfed the body of the 2.5 year old 8. Well they both posture and walk around each other and then lock up for a intense battle. The 2.5 yr old 8 backs down and justifiably so, he was way over matched. There they stood, side by side 10 yards from my other stand. Just my luck.

I called to both of them and stired the big guy and he wanted to provoke the 8 but the 8 would have nothing to do with him any more, he just wanted to hang around. I finally got the big guy to commit and pulled him the 200 yards to within 33 yards, broadside and I drew but with fading light, the shot wasn't there.

Hopefully I'll get crack at him with good light. His body was huge, clearly older than 2.5 and incredible mass with good main beam length, high, long and wide. Not many tines tho, could even be a broken 7/8....I'll take him in a heartbeat just for his character and masterfullness...lol

Today I took the day off, didn't see a deer.

Jeff, sorry buddy, no points to help ya out yet.
