We have a mission. One of the guys I work with is a Boy scout leader. He has a couple of scouts that are in a family of 11 (I think). We've donated some of Mitch's old clothes......and now they say they'll take venison.

Hey guys......need some ideas.

I mentioned yesterday I'm going to have to put my Lab Ashley down in a few weeks, months. I want so much for she and I to track a deer together.....and I want to have it shoulder mounted. Ashley's Deer. I want pictures......the whole nine yards. I thought I'd have a photo of us and the deer put on a plaque under the mount. Can any of you think of anything similar....or does this sound like a good idea? I almost regret not taking the 6-pointer from yesterday......for this reason. I could really care less how big the rack is. That's the truth. I may even shoot a doe. I'd just like to do this. Hunting has begun to mean so much to me......and she and I spent some WONDERFUL times afield when she was younger.

Well I wasn't able 2 find him. There was a pile of white hair where I shot him and the blood was very dark. We followed hit for about 50 yards and it fizzled out, but there wasn't much to start with. We pretty much covered the whole woods and didn't see anything. So we think he probably lived through unless we missed him somewhere which is possible since it is a 50 acre woods. So I'll get my butt out there tommorrow and saturday and see if we'll get another crack at him. I hope so.

Brent we have all been there, sorry to hear you could not find the brute.

i just had an unbelievable morning!! todays the day boys..615 i hear something trotting through but is dark and cant see. 805ish i see a doe trotting into the little crab apple thicket right behind me. stops in an opening and it was SHOOT idtiot! no! dont shoot idiot!! opted not to shoot..she was running from something..sweating and panting about to pass out..looked behind her...her he comes! antlers for sure...im ready to roll..hits the opening..i stop him...AWW man....junk rack. young deer and i dont think he had ANY points...big bladed beams and that looked like that was it. he proceeded to beat the crap out of a GOOD sized tree for close to 5 minutes..practiced drawing on him...then rememberd i had my camera! he never moved..18yds away. but my memory card was full from the stupid school project[:@] got a few shots after i deleted a few pics but cant see him in them!

830ish i hear ore deer coming straight infront of me..3 of them!! first one a doe...second one im not sure...3rd one came up and smashed his face you know where...the doe and other deer circled around..never got a look at the second deer..the buck circled the other way..NICE 6pt. nice brows..nice rack..nice g2s..no g3s though[:@] sat till 10am..then i had to goto the chiropractor..my whole right side was jacked...fixed me up...home to answer natures calls and to eat lunch and decide where to go this afternoon and evening....hmmm todays the DAY.....i just gota make the RIGHT stand decision!! i really dont know where to go...i dont think any bigger bucks will be coming through this mornings spot..its a tinnny wood strip..i couldnt believe i seen 5 in there...we drive the whole strip out and usually never see 5...think im gunna hunt a ridge i havent been to all year...keep changing things up...see what happens!

well...sat on stand from noonish till dark....NADA..picked the wrong spot i suppose...bummmmer. tried bleats, rattling and grunting to no avail. i had to hunt that spot just once though. its hit or miss. just like alot of small woodlots around here.

today was by far the most exciting day..and i got to watch deer for a while. cant say i done that much in the past. gun i would dumped a doe..

headed back out tomarrow...last day...rain in the after noon so we will see what happens.....debating on weather to go back this mornings spot and try to get a doe or head back to the spot where i shot the buck a couple weeks ago..i dont know....decisions decisions...hmmmmm

tryin germ...tryin...gunna give it hell tomarrow...weather permitting..looking at the forcast makes me wanna CRY..50% chance of rain till 8am..8am-noon is 70%..rest of the day is 90%!!!!!!!


still dont know where to go....seeing 5 deer in a sitting is pretty unbelievable to me...exspecially with 2 of them being bucks...they better thank antler restictions!! we all know im not a PRO at this yet..but come tomarrow score or no score im closing the books calling this a successful first season. still got faith..if weather isnt bad......but it looks like i may not ever venture out tomarrow. i just CANT loose another deer. even a slam dunk pocket rocket means nothing in a downpour that lasts all day....i just dont know...if i goto the spot i was at this AM i know pretty much exzactly where a hit deers gunna head..but still..im still tore up about the first deer..we will see....we will see......maybe the rain will FLY through over night....ill be up at 5am to see how bad it is....i reallllly dont wanna hafta stay in on the LAST DAY too bad for ARs.....that 6pt would scored 70-80 inches....hope he lives till next year..he will be a brute....that makes 4 illegal bucks i seen this year...hope they ALL live..good pickuns next year....
