Rob & Mauser - have you guys been seeing much in PA yet? I've been in some PRIMO locations, but nothing much to speak of just yet except one scrub eight pointer. Man, it just seems like the weather is really not cooperating - I got stuck in a T-storm Wednesday and every other day it's been steaming hot or rainy. Looks like we're finally getting some cool weather moving in, so hopefully that gets 'em on their feet.
Either way, good luck this weekend fellas.

Leaving for southern Illinois in about 4 hours! Can't wait! Went out last night and saw a 1 1/2 buck feed in front of me for nearly 30 minutes. Awesome body on him, he'll be a stud one day for sure.
I wish all of you luck this weekend. The full moon should bring the first does into estrous shortly here in the midwest. Although the rut isn't for weeks, their always is a chance for a love hungry buck who smells a first available doe! The testosterone is abundant when you get these cooler temps. Can't wait!
Good Luck Gents..

Well it was a great night, no deer killed, but they were really moving tonight.
5:50 PM saw a doe in the CRP
6:05 PM 7 point 10 yds from me for 47 mins(yes 47 mins)
While the stupid one was in front of me a big doe, yearly and fawn(still had spots) walk behind me.
7:00 PM say 4 more in the CRP
Great night I am pumped about tomorrow morning

Same here Germ, great night. As I sat and listened to the local high school band at the Friday night home football game, footsteps told me they were there. A huge doe with button twins walked directly under me, they made their way out to the CRP field and worked their way down to my food plot. They browsed away when another doe and her fawns joined them. Had I been in that stand, I would have been 15 yards to all 6 of them, they ran, frolicked, kicked, bucked, jumped, chased, it was very enjoyable from my 200 yard perch. A great night. I think I'll sit in this stand tomorrow morn as well. Here's a view from the stand, the doe/fawns as they walked away and the moon. Be sure to watch for more pictures in my HNI journals as soon as Justin approves the latest.

Rob, looks like that stand is close to the moon!!! We had a nice moon rise here too, but it came just as night fell.
Thanks for the info on scoreing, and good luck to you and your team.

ahhh BOWHUNTING. im officially HOOKED. got off work at 2 today. went to the farm and talked to my buddy. he said get my butt in my tree its too nice to sit down there and BS! he said he might do a one man push for me later right before dark. hes got the itch to get in the woods. i get on stand around 3pm. sat there and sat there. squirrels..chipmunks..almost got my head taken off by a redtail hawk. heard my friend sneak by 200yds away..he let out a holler. i figured he was going to circle back around but he didnt and stayed way away from my spot. about 45 minutes later it was about quittin time..already unscrewed the hanger for the quiver..standing up watching light fade hoping to see something in the last minutes. there! on the sky line!!! HOLY cow thats a BIG BIG body. whoaaaa is that a rack?? 45yds away in thick stuff coming right at me. ok whered it go?? OH! right there 30yds away coming straight to me! hey! another one! ok whered the rack go?? mannnnn is that a big doe! 25yds..20..15..10..broadside..COW..half drew..ahhh the farmer might be mad..ill wait. mannnnn did the heart pound. the big one came straight under my stand eating white oaks and sassafrass leaves. the other looked like a mature doe as well but not a COW. maybe the other was a BIG yearling. the big one finally sniffed my pull up rope i forgot to pull up after i brought up the bow and jumped back. 15yds broadside..im taking it. half draw..ahhh shes alert..farmer might be mad.."bait" in a few weeks..ill wait..they both went calm..then she stomped and snorted..she had no idea what lerked above her. i coulda drilled either of them 10 times over. i have to work at 7am..farmer might been upset(doe herd is slim this year) etc etc. always another day....but man was that exciting.
went and talked to the farmer after the hunt..he seen 8..couldnt get them to go the right way alone but enjoyed his walk. said they were too far to see their heads. the 2 i seen came in REALLY alert..had to be from him. but quickly settled and started earting and milling around.
the baking soda wash and White Lightning did the trick. they were REALLY close to being down wind..right on the edge of it...never smelled me. had no idea i was there. the only thing i didnt spray was the rope! thats what she smelled but still had no idea.
headed to the orchard after work today..dont wanna burn out the same spot..still hunting bone. pretty surprising im usually a meat hunter. even dad is routing for me to bring home some antlers! which is REALLY wierd. hes usually routing BOLOGNA! SAUSAGE! CHOPS! lol. tomarrow ill be horn hunting too..mainly because i dont wanna be tracking a doe and having to call off work. honestly i may just come home and sleep after work. i dont get off till 4...i wont get into my tree till about 530. we will see how i feel..im just exhausted and dont wanna wear myself out..either i hunt tonight or hunt monday morning..we will see. i got lots more time. no school next mon-wed evening!!!

Great morning tho it started slow. I didn't see a deer until 8:30 but from then until I got down at 10:00 I still had deer within site, non stop all does and fawns. In fact I was still looking at a doe when I got down. Made me second guess not getting a doe tag.
Engima was amazing again. The doe I was watching was directly down wind from me at 50 yards. She tried and tried to pick me out and stood in the same spot for 1/2 hour. I thought she might be bedded but she was standing. I'd see her head go up and ears lock toward me but she couldn't find me. She did this for a 1/2. I got a call from a friend who shot a buck. Even though he saw it go down, he said he'd let it lay so my dog could track it for practice. I started waving to the doe, she locked on me but could "see" me. I waved more and she staired never running from scent nor sight. I even climbed down the tree and walked away. Once I hit the ground she could no longer see me because of brush but I never heard her go.
Anyway, Axel tracked the buck perfectly, chewed and tug on the bucks hide ect...
I'm home to clean up, decent and get back in the treestand. Good luck gentlemen.

Well I saw the Doe that will when the Doe contest, she is a tank. She was right where I was going to hunt, LOL THe wind was wrong.
Like Rob was not until 8:15AM until I saw some deer.
I saw 15 in my food plot on the other end of the field.
1 little spike, rest doe's and fawns
Hey if I go after the Amazon Doe, does it make me a trophy doe hunter? LOL
