The biggest buck in my woods walked 5 yds in front of the tree I had picked out for whomever wanted to hunt there, Saturday. I had a friend.....my son....and Mauser all believeing they had something more iportant to do (I know you had to work, captain).

Fate's what it is, boys.....fate. I hope I get to see that deer again, next archery season.

dang jeff....bigger than YOUR buck AND Robs buck!?!?! lol id love an out of state hunt...but you guys know what college is like...plus i work...for some reason i HAD to work this semester and still dont know where my money went. i cant figure it out. insurance, cell phone and gas are my only "bills"...i guess 14-15mpg doesnt help..books raped me this semester and i didnt get jack back for them..and i guess through the season i didnt work aweful hard lol..Sundays..sometimes saturdays...i dont know...i got off for my mountain trip the day after xmas..other then that my xmas break will be work 4 days a week and hunting 3 days of it the last 2 weeks of the season..not bad i guess...

how olds your son jeff?? i know your just starting to get into hunting yourself...probably like most teenagers..got their own lives they rather live...im sure you try to get him to hunt...i wish i could go back to being a kid..theres nothin i loved more then to hunt and fish with dad. those were the good ole days. i turned 16...started working pretty much full time and going to HS..17 i was working 60+hr weeks AND going to highschool..ill be 20 in march..since 16 our schedules just havent met up...they meet up for weekend mountain trips every once in a while(got one coming the weekend of the 19th!!) but the memories and time spent with dad are memories i wont forget..if i could go back to being 12 id do it!! as wierd as that seems to some guys..im ALMOST to the point of having 100% MY OWN life and being on my own...id settle for being 12

got a day off today....got some running around to do.....

PS....i shot my bow yesterday for the first time since sometime in october...i shot throughout the season..but not all too much...just didnt have time between work school and hunting...but 35yds im still veryyyyyy deadly!!! if i get my running around done before dark i want to shoot some more today..i love shooting the bow.

my semester went fairly well guys....i finished it with a 3.0 not great but not to shabby. some of my professors turned out to be tougher than they seemed in the beginning..but all in all im happy..i miss an A in one class by a HAIR..2 of the classes i was happy with the B and C i got in them..i just didnt have time to the major studying for ALL my classes EVERY day..i know my major classes are more important than the others and i need a higher QPA in my major than liberal studies so thats what i studied harder for..

gettin ready to go shoot the flintlock. our late season is also a flintlock season..i gotta take that for my mountain trip since we will be driving..i havent gotten my first deer with that either...if i drive my truck up there though I AM TAKING THE BOW!! i just dont wanna fill someone elses truck..but we stand hunt in the mornings...if we get up...so i will be bowhunting for the team if i drive my own truck up. mainly looking to take a doe with the flinter this season. i think i should have 4 days to hunt each week though...so i will be bowhunting a good bit! see if i cant find me a legal buck....things look grim..but you cant kill em from the couch!!

im hoping and wishing for snow by the 26th...but that looks grim also....raining and 40-50 degrees right now...

3.0 is pretty good, I think I was around 2.8, but I NEVER studied, I was working like you and hunting.

I made a deal with Drama classes, I would take a "c" and never show up, and do all the written work. The Prof ask why, I replied "I think this is the most worthless subject in college, and I do not want waste time to get dressed to come you your class" She said OK, LOL

My Senior year I took all the end year exams the second week for my Programming classes, and never went. Got my Job at GM.

I never went to one party, captain go to a party and some fun!!!

dang germ...i definently couldnt pull that off! guys like you made it impossible for guys like me that wanna be like that!! attendance policies(WTF!! i PAY YOU no matter what...i dont feel like coming, then you dont have to teach me and you got PAID for doing nothing!!) and they made it pretty much impossible to do well without going. i missed ONE class all semester. that was the opening day of rifle season. did a porject and turned it in a week early so i COULD skip. other then that im at class and study a bit...i wouldnt say i study ALOT but i know what i need to study for.

parties....i went to a couple my first semester...i really aint into stuff like that. 40+ people fighting to get to ONE KEG in the FAR back corner of the room in a house made for 2 people! 2 rooms a bathroom and a livingroom/kitchen. rediculous. then....you pay 5$ for a plastic cup that costs 10 cents and by the time you fill your cup and walk OUT of the crowd you already gotta refill your cup! pretty rediculous....that time i also took a smokin hot girl and some of her friends...shes a GOOD girl..barely ever drank and stuff so after a cup or 2 she was pretty bad...i went back in and came back out and that was enough...some wasted little chit tryin to get her to go in a room with him and she was about to go. i about fought them both...i knew she WOULDNT want that sober and knew he was just tryin to get some...i wasnt having that...she thanked me later..

i dont drink much...when i do i much rather be hangin around the farm having a few or around the camp fire with the good ole boys. we dont get crazy..dont get outa control. just have a good time...i rather do that than the whole huge college party thing where kids are trying to 1)pay their rent(5$ a person...by 40 people is 200$ for a 40$ keg!!) and 2) take advantage of the girls...

speaking of the good ole boys and the farm.....im outa here! going out to the farm for the day to putts around and hang out...shoot the flintlock..maybe even go run the coonhounds tonight!!
