Hello
I live in Ohio and hunt Ohio, WV, and PA and I been hunting for about 25 yrs now. Last yr I shot 4 bucks total the best being a 13pt netting 128. With this contest I got to focus on PA and OHio more in early season instead of WV where I normally shot legal it is dead. Got 2 nice bucks in my focus right now 1 in Ohio and 1 in PA. The ohio buck will score around 140 and I am not sure of the PA buck only got a fast look at him 1 evening but from what my aunt and cousin tell me he is a 12 pt with a drop tine on each side. Hopefully I will have a pic of him come thursday whenI go down to check the Cuddy. I am also planning on doing alot of videoing this season and with alittle goodluck I can get a few doe kills on them.

Lets win it all

I forgot to add that if anyone had any ideas for a team name to post them up!

I'll be hunting a little bit of Kansas this year, mostly public ground though. Here in MO I have 4 bucks roaming on the land I hunt, 2 8's that should go 120's, 1 9 that will be about 130's hopefully, and the same 10 I couldnt get a shot at last year that will be about 130's also.

Hello, this is my 10th year bowhunting. I live and hunt in central minnesota about half hour NW of the twin cities. Last year ended my streak of 7 years in a row getting a deer with bow. I didn't even really realize it until the season was over, had I noticed I might have hunted more in Nov/Dec :). I did get an 8 pointer during gun season. I have a 3 year string of getting 8 pointers, that I would like to break with a nice 10! I'm really short on trail cam pics of bucks this year. only have one pick with antlers in it [:@], but it's 3 good bucks in the pic.

Can't wait for the season to start (only about 3 weeks away)!

Here is a few name possibles

1)Get-R-Down
2)Heart attack
3)Lung Slammers
4)Down-N-Dirty
5)Team Drop em
6)Heart Stoppers
7)Pass Thru

Just some examples.
I know the feelings about not getting bucks on cam :( I went and checked my pa cam last week and had 138 pics and a ton of video and not 1 buck. Tons of does and fawns at all times of the day.

If anyone is intrested in checking out some doe and fawn pics/video

At least you all are getting pictures!! I set up my camera last Wednesday and checked it Saturday. It was set on a good trail near where I set my stand last year. Well, needless to say, I didnt get a singe picture! I know the deer are there, just not sure why they wont pose for me! haha

gtx106 08-21-2006 05:21 PM

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

Also, I think Pass Thru was used last year if it matters to anyone.

First couple things that came to mind was something with lucky 7 or in that area.

Should we send pm's to the other teammates?

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

Let's get it on!!!!!!!!

Guy's I'm ready. I live in NC now and travel the states. I've been hunting for 20+ years and bow only for most of them. I prefere to hunt in Md mostly on golf courses and people's back yards. I won't have much time so I'll be limiting my hunting to a few spots this year with a few wild cards. I'm out after deer in the 150+ class and last year never got one glimse of a single bruiser. That was very unusual considering the places I hunt. I guess I had other things on my mind.

I feel real good this year though. I just got my bow back from the factory where I had it completely tore down, refitted and updated. Now if I could only find time to tune it up.

Aces up my sleeve are the deer we're finally seeing in my neighborhood. I saw two of them last night and they were at least the 10 pointers. My neighbor has been seeing a group of big bucks in my yard, his yard and across the street. They consist of 2 - 12's, 2 - 10's and 2 - 8's. The ones I finally saw last night where about 20" spread and real high racks. I will hunt them but not too seriously. I happy to finally see quality bucks in my own neighborhood. I will allow another team mate to hunt them if they need to put something on the board.

Other then that let's put some points on the board. Let's do it early and often!!!!!

fieldmouse - me me me! hehe. I'll take out one of your 12 pointer pets for you. that's my specialty!I spend most my time hunting a couple hundred yards from my inlaws house. You can see one of my stands frominside their house (shot my first bowbuck there) Mother in law is always telling me not to shoot the local fawns. she'd kill me!

hey guys, just checking in.
sorry it wasnt earlier, as I dont hang out TOO much in the archery forum, usually in the Deer Hunting and Off Season and Midwest forums the most. I will be back here more often now though.

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

Oops, forgot to add some details
My name is Aaron, Im from Illinois. This is only my second year Bowhunting, but my 10th season hunting Deer overall. The deer in my avatar is the one from last year, my first wall mount scored about 148 without deductions. However, that was with a shotgun. I could have got a small 6-pointer real easy last year but passed because there are some big deer out there.
I will be hunting pretty hard come October 1st, opening archery day in Illinois. I scheduled school and work around it all season. I have classes from 8-12pm and 6-10pm on Monday, possibly allowing an evening hunt. And I have classed Noon-3pm, and 6-10pm Tuesday, allowing for a morning hunt. Then I work Wednesdays and Fridays starting around 7-8pm, allowing me to hunt morning and night those days and all day Thursday. As for the weekend, I will have to work one night, and other than that I can hunt the rest of the weekend and most of the time probably will. I am stoked to say the least. Sorry about the rambling, just filling ya in!

Vogt just remember you can always retake a class but never relive a hunt!!!!!!;)

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

I posted this on the midwest forum but figured I would give it a shot here also just in case someone got some ifo to share with a team mate.

I live on the eastern side of the state but was offer full permission through a long lost Aunt on 3 farms around Coldwater ohio. aprrox 700 acres all toll. Needless to say it is about a 4hr+ drive for me and wanted to know if anyone knows if this area hold enough big bucks to make it worth the ride to scout then hunt. Any info of this Couty/region would be greatly helpfull.

Trytan

P.S Fieldmouse I come down to Raleigh NC a few times each yr and could possible make a trip in Oct if you got some big Yard deer that could help the team...lol

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

I'd jump all over that offer. Pull up the land on a topo map and make the trip. I love going cold turkey sometimes into areas. It can be a lot of fun.

Hi everyone, 2dog checking in. This will be my 6th year bowhunting. I hunt mainly in the NE part of North Dakota. I will be going at the end of October to hunt mule deer in the badlands of ND. Our season open on September 1, I can't wait. I shot a decent 8 pointer with a 14 1/2" spread 3 years ago and a smaller 8 point 2 years ago. Last year I never had anything big enough in range, I did shoot a doe though. I shoot a Hoyt Vtec.

Guy's I'm ready to Rock!!!!

Went out yesterday and bought arrows and some other crap. Spent all morning (don't tell my boss) tuning it in and sighting it at 20 feet (which is what you do with a scope). It's Dead Balls Acurate (a industry technical term, thank you Marisa Tomei). I'll check next week when I get back how it shoots at a distance.

Let's pick a name. How about "Dead Balls Acurate" or just "Dead Balls"?

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

Hey guys I'm Brian, live and hunt in north central Iowa. Me and my dad have a few nice areas that we've leased up over the years. Been out scouting some seen a couple nice bucks on our leases. One is a big wide 8 that should score around 140 - 150 probably 23" or so inside spread. Also a big ten looks like he has a couple kickers would probably go 150 - 160, its hard to tell for sure in velvet. Can't wait to get out in a stand, I took my yearly vacation week and a half during prime rut. I've hunted deer for 12 years, 7 w/ archery. Nothing beats it.
Looks like we got a great team with some good trophy possiblities. Can't wait to hear more from everyone

I may live in NC but I do my serious hunting in Md. That's why I'm not that concerned with the bucks in my yard. I may end up hunting them some due to my schedule but my neighbor's boy is hunting for the first time. I'm going to let him get a crack at one of them.

RE: 7- Team Official Thread

As far as team name goes. I vote for something a little off the wall. too many similar names, they all sound alike.

Anybody have any trail cam pics of bucks from this year. Below is my ONLY one. Normally i'll have a good 10-15 pics of bucks at this time. My season (on private land) was looking pretty dim until I put a cam on my grandma inlaw's land. I'm normally scared to put a cam there because we've had problems (lots of problems). So i put my el cheapo stealthcam out there and i got this pic after a couple days. I've been driving by there in the evening and the deer are in an alfalfa field every night. only problem is gramma gave permission to someone she doesn't even know and he put up a stand right in the corner where they are coming out. ugh!!!! I've found no less than half a dozen portables on her 280 this year already. she doesn't remember giving permission to anyone but me and this other person.
