Checking in;

I wasn't able to findtwo of our team members on the member registration list.
1. Bowhunter1life
2. TagOut

All but three members have less than 50 posts. Guys, be sure to keep us posted on what is going on in your neck of the woods. Best of luck to all.

Checking in...I may not have many posts...but I've been on this site for over 4 years...I lurk most of the time and switched my name just last year...don't worry, I'll keep ya guys posted. Btw, when we decide a team name, I'm pretty decent with Photoshop, so I can whip something up along with anyone else who wants to contribute.

Although I really don't want to bring about the famed PA QDM debate, in my immediate area (WMU 2G)...terrible. We live on a 90 acre tract that is bordered by neighbors who poach, bait, and simply took advantage of the bonus tags of the previous few years. I simply just don't have the deer on my property that I used to. I'm 21, and I've been bowhunting since I was 13...in that short amount of time, I've noticed a significant decline in buck and doe sitings when hunting. It's a shame, but I'll be out there to enjoy the woods nonetheless, because I enjoy hunting whether I get anything or not. Next year, I will be hunting more at my cabin, but for now I only have weekends when in College.

Thats the main thing.

As for me, more soybeans have been planted than corn in my best areas so I may do more hunts than usual in October. I still have to put stands in two fencerows that I think may be good producers this season. I also have some river bottom land to hunt, but I am not the only person bowhunting it and its already tough hunting. It looks like I will be hunting the nearby state land more this season due to fuel prices.

Hey, this is phil_pick checking in. I don't post much cause I just picked up a bow last summer for the first time so I am still learning. I did manage to get two does last year but didn't see a buck in the limmited time that I could get out and hunt. I decided to pick up some cameras this year and I just got them in the woods this morning so I'll let ya know what I see when I check them out in a couple of weeks.

RE: 18- Team Official Thread

Speaking of last year, how did everyone else do last year? I got two does with a bow and one more late in the season with a gun. I saw probly 25 does but 0 bucks last year. Hopefully that will change this year.

RE: 18- Team Official Thread

It was a long year for me bowhunting last year. I sure passed up a lot of decent bucks, hoping for something good to come along. Nothing ever did. Closest I got last year was watched a 140" ten point for an hour at 100 yards and he never made a fatal mistake. I took a doe on the second to last day. I also shot a 16" 4.5yr old seven point with muzzleloader. For me, that's not a good year at all.

A compilation of bucks in my area from July:

A better picture of my Target Buck:

The stand from which the fatal arrow will be sent:

Shooter buck #2:

Shooter bucks three and maybe four in the background in this pic:

Here is a pic of the best buck I passed up last year:

A few bucks that survived last year on another property that I hunt. I'll use this other property as my back-up plan:

Sorry for the pic overload! I'm excited to see what happens this year. I've got a ton more pics, but won't bore you guys with the rest.

Tribal reporting for duty. Looking forward to making a run at winning this thing this year. I won it the first year and made a strong run last year as the winning team stayed together. I have seen many bucks in my area and looking to score on a P&Y. My fingers are crossed. Took a fewdecent bucks every year for the last 5 years. Good luck to you all!

I'm from Northcentral PA. I'll be hunting mostly my 90acre tract at my parents home on the weekends I'm home from school. I'll hunt some during our two week rifle season at our nearby cabin. James Vee, my dad went on a hunt in Buffalo County last november...scored on a very nice 120-130 class 10 point.

From Illinois here. I'll be bowhunting some public land along with land by permission. I may hunt on family owned land in Indiana as well.

I live in Southeast North Dakota and will be hunting around home as well as Northeast ND near the Canadian border.

Looking forward to getting on the board with a respectable score this year. Season opens this Friday and I'm more than ready to go.

My suggestion for a Team Name is The Predators.

James Vee 08-28-2006 08:53 PM

RE: 18- Team Official Thread

Predators works for me, because afterall, I am a killing machine.
Matt, I've never hunted Buffalo county, but I've traveled through it quite a number of times. I hunt in both Douglas as well as Bayfield counties. If you look at this map, i'm in the farthest two NW counties in Wisconsin. Also, what are you studying?

click this link for the high res picture of the same map:

So far, the states we will be hunting are:

North Dakota
Wisconsin
Iowa
Illinois
Pennsylvania
