Season here starts on Saturday. My first month of hunting will more than likely be limited to weekends only, unless someone has a spot on the Milwaukee/Waukesha area I could frequent. Best of luck to everyone.

I was looking back over our thread and noticed that Tag Out has never posted. Someone else signed in for them. I did a search and it looks like he is also on team 11 where he has been posting. Do we need to sign up for an alternate?

James Vee 09-14-2006 02:33 PM

RE: 18-Team "PREDATORS" Official Thread

That's a little crazy. I think we need an alternate. How about 5575gb?

RE: 18-Team "PREDATORS" Official Thread

I checked in to it a little more, and the posts from "Team 11" are from the 2005 contest. TagOut has still not checked in this year for team 18.

Has anyone killed yet this year. I hunted this morning and saw 2 does but i went out last night to a differrent peice of property and saw 7 bucks, 4 of them were shooters. Me and a buddy will probably be hunting this peice all weekend. GOOD LUCK

Someone stop the rain!!! The rain of properties that is:D.I can't believe how many new pieces are coming to me this year. So far, I have aquired 3 new pieces of over 500 acres. There is no way I can hunt all of them. I have to start eliminating some of them. Going in the morning to one of my oldest, have seen some real good ones, it's a good travel corridor. It's either there or the one with the soy beans all over it. Have seen a few does but nothing with horns. I passed alot of bucks last year, 6 to be exact, in the hopes that this year there will be a fw big ones.
James - 5575gb is alright with me. We really need another shooter.

RDHunter.....I checked in.

Guys, I emailed Rob and told him of Tag Out not checking in himself. It seems the person who checked in for him is his wife(MOM W/SWD), whom is on another team. Apparently he registered for the contest on his wife's account. He has not posted under his account since 10/10/05. We will see what Rob thinks.

Thanks Mag, now get some sleep! I've got a buck to tag in the morning.

RE: 18-Team "PREDATORS" Official Thread

James, if you are going to tag that big buck in the morning you need your sleep.:D I most likely will be up most of the night. I have some clothes washing in baking soda as we speak. I have some stands to hang tomorrow and some land checking to do.

Good luck all who seasons are in...........I guess the rest of us have to wait.:(

Did not even go out today on the opener. Was windy as heck and have major thunderstorms and tornados in the area right now.

James Vee 09-17-2006 07:24 AM

We've got the same wind, but will never get any rain.

Went yesterday, temp in the mid 80's, sat on a well used watering hole. Saw 3 does and 2 fawns with spots. Wind wasn't good for some of the other locations. Felt the watering hole would be a good spot. Had the doe and 2 fawns around for 30 min or so. All in all, a good day. Sorry no shooters. If the fawns hadn't had spots..... Looking forward to some evening hunts this week.

Rob emailed back and he is going to replace Tag Out if he doesn't check in. IMO if he can't check in with us himself we need a replacement.

Well team just got back from my first outing of the season. Your not going to believe me but I am not exagerating one second. Sat for 4 hours this afternoon. I saw 20+ deer with 13 of them being bucks and 4 of those were what I consider "shooters of 125" or more. WOW I cannot believe it. The bad part is 2 of them were 60 yards out in cover not even a chance at a shot and the other 2 were moving fast out of range with a large group of deer. It reminded me of late season no kidding. Each of the big bucksbucks were with differentbachelor groups with 100 inch deer. I am so excited for this season I can't wait to get out this week. Could of shot a large doe but I had bucks out in front of me about 60 yards and I was hoping they were coming my way. Even heard a couple sparring in the distance. They sounded mature with a heavy clinking of the antlers not small 6 or 8 pointers. Keep you posted!:D;)I can tell it was the first outing I had the shakes for at least 20 minutes. lol

Welcome bloodcreek. Do you mind me asking what part of Indiana are you from? I am a native Hoosier myself though I live in Illinois now.

RE: 18-Team "PREDATORS" Official Thread

Hey Cougar I ,dont mind you asking at all. Im in Pike county around a little town called Spurgeon. Thousands of acres of the old strip minning ground often refered to as spoilbanks. I live in the boon docks and hunt onan 800 acre lease that starts beside my house. There is ten members on our lease mostly neighbors and friends and we hardly run in to each other during the season. I have been seeing alot of nice bucks this summer.
Where are you native from in the Hoosier state?? Oh by the way i work with alot of people from Illinois. mostly Walbash county.

Bloodcreek,
Welcome to the team!

Bowhunter,
Congrats on the doe. I ended last year with two doe tags in my pocket so I will probably be looking to put meat in the freezer early in the season as well.

I watched a spike buck harrassing several doe in a field this afternoon. I don't what that is about. He is at least a month early.

Good luck to everone that is going out this weekend.

Well, anyone thats hunting allready, are youseeing anything yet ? I know bowhunter4lifedrilled a doe, congrats.I seen a buck behind my home today thru the spotting scope that i had never seen before. He was about three inches past his ears but he looked like only a 6-point. I have never seen a six point this big. If he had g-3's he would have been close to a 125" buck.he was very far away, so it was hard to tell. I have seen some dandys this summer and im still waiting on Oct.1st good luck all!!!

I'm home again for the weekend. I only have Saturday all day and Sunday morning to hunt. Congrats to everyone who has taken a dear so far. Unfortunately for me, my string came off my bow last weekend while drawing back on a dandy eight point.

I took some does already and am seeing deer everytime out. No bucks lately. I will be hunting some stands I have not hunted much. So my fingers are crossed.
