Thats a real good story about your doe , I never hunted out of state or with an outfitter.
It would be nice to hunt somewhere like Kentuckey , West Virgina or anywhere that I haven't been.

Rd I'm not sure if the video counts but if it does mine is on video, but by the sounds of it team 36 doesnt want that to happen,they are having a hard enough time keeping up, a couple video shots would just put them into depression.lol. I believe millertime has pitchfork on video also.

I'm going crazy not being able to hunt but bear season opens up on Monday so crossing the old fingers or should I say crosshairs.

Hey team have you read the post about HNI get together , it's in the bowhunting forum and it sounds like a good idea.
I think it would be a great way to meet everyone , I'm planing on going if they can get it organized.

Yea RD it was very tasty! Hey Q2 I wish you luck bear season. I can't go this year because I burned to many days on my KY trip. I been hunting Bears in Pa for 25 years and never seen one with a gun in my hand. Did you hear if therewere bears shot on our first Archery bear hunt last week? GoodLuck and be safe!!!

Hatchet no I havent heard but I'm very curious, it's a season that doesnt make much sense to me, whymake theseason the entire archery season, your chances in Pa are slim to take an archery bear. Speaking of bear season I didnt see one but saw a nice 6 point that came to with in 20yrds after calling to him. Great day in the Pa woods. I'm right there with you Hatchet I have been out a few years and never have I seen a bear with a gun in my hand either, my brother connected three years ago with a nice 200 pounder.I will be out the next two mornings and try again before work..

Well gun Deer season opens on Monday. I will be out with my 13yr old son. I'm going to sit with him in the blind and try to get him his first deer. I will be out on Tuesday with the bow to try and score for the team!

Hey guys! I am just checking in. Things have been getting real busy around here. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, a little late! Our shotgun season opens this weekend, so all the yahoos will be out. I will be carrying my muzzleloader this season. In Iowa, you have your choice of shotgun or muzzleloader. I hope you are all still having fun outdoors, and good luck to those of you still hunting.

Hi team mates
I hope every one is doing well , still haven't scored yet but I'm trying.
Went out to my happy hunting grounds last Saturday morning , boy what a mistake that was .
I got in to my stand early and waited for first light and then BAME BAME somebody with a gun was about 50 to 70 yards behind me on the ground.
I didn't see what he was shooting at but it was in my direction , the leaves and branch's below my stand was riddled with a hail of shot gun blast.
Talk about crapping your pants " MAN " that really scared me and made me mad at the same time , thats makes it three times I've been shot at or in the line of fire.
Any way enough with my bad luck , I wanted to throw a thought out to you guys on the team if it's ok with everyone.
I got this PC program that makes certificates and other things so I was thinking if I could ask for everyones mailing address , I would make these certificates for all of team mates and send them out in the mail for everyone.

Well I took a day off from getting shot at and stayed home to get a " honey - do " project done.
At least it made my wife happy whe she pulled up in the driveway.

Yea I wish I could get out but I'm confined to the indoors for a while , breathing problems again.
These cold temps really affect my C O P D and I have to do breathing treatments every four hour's.
I can't even shovel the driveway and sidewalk with out gasping for air ( dam ) really want to finish the season with at least some meat in the freezer.
I hope Holliday Slim and orr2003 score on a nice buck to get our team back up to the top , last time I looked at the score card we are now in thrid place with team Bro's before Doe's close behind us.
Oh well ... I'll just keep hoping and praying for good and safe season for all.

I still have plenty of time to score for the team. I'm going out on friday with the bow. It's the last week of gun season here in Pa. Then we have 3weeks of late archery starting the day after Xmass. I had my son out on the first day of gun season and he shot his first deer a doe. He made a great shot at 75yards from a groundblind. It was the first deer he ever shot at and he but it right thru the boiler room. That was a great day. I plan on buying him a bow for Xmass this year. He"s been shooting real good with a starter bow and its time for him to step up. The only problem,he's a LEFTY[:@]Goodluck and be safe and hang in there RD!

Well, rifle season is over here and time to pick up the bow again. I got a pic of another good one in my area this past weekend, I hope I can catch him slipping. If not, no big deal, he be a monster next year and will give me a little extra drive to be in the woods. I didn't do any good during rifle, I saw a bunch of little bucks, does, and fawns. Nothing worth shooting, in my opinion. My cousin did get his first buck Sunday off of our place.
I had been seeing this deer pretty regularly since August. I have about 70 game cam pics of him and watched him several times with does during season. We wanted him to go another year or two, but I am happy he shot him, especially for being his first buck. Just go to the link and click on the picture, and the video should load and play.

Hi Team

Man I gotta tell ya all this is not my year , last tuesday I put a post in the BowHumnting Forum about my twin brother having to go to the hospital for heart problems.
Will in less than 24 hours I had a problem with my breathing and passed out in my bathroom , when my dog couldn't geta response from me she ( the dog ) went in to the bedroom and woke my wife up and got her to follow her to the bathroom where I was .
When my wife saw me in the condition that was in and couldn't get a response she called 911 and I ended up at the same hospital my brother is in.
After they ran some blood test they told me that I had sufferd a light heart attack as well , so I went the hospital eary thursday morning around 3:30 am and I just came home at 5 : 00 pm today .
Pretty wierd crap that Identical Twins would have the same thing happen to them within a short time frame.
I'm ok now but I have to be very careful about what I do and what I eat from this point on , I'm really grateful to my dog that she is smart enough to do what she did for me .
It really makes me think that God works in mysterious ways.

Wow...Rd, I am glad to hear you are ok. That sure does sound scary, thank goodness for your dog. That isn't the first time I have heard of a dog doing something like that, they truly are special animals. Like you said, God does work in mysterious ways. Glad to hear you are OK RD. Sounds like a scary time at your house. Nice pics Millertime, that buck will be awesome next year.

We just finished our shotgun season here. My father in law shot a decent 10 point, my brother in law and I shot does. I had one real nice buck in range, but everything that could go wrong did. I am waiting for December 18th, so I can start muzzleloader hunting. Hopefully I will be able to connect on a good one.

Hey Rd I hope your feeling better and give that Dog a T-Bone stake! Take it easy. I went out Friday and did not see a deer. Things are alittle shook up in the woods with all the gun hunting. Things will go back to normal for the late archery season after Xmass I hope. I need a break to regroup and tune things up,clean an wash my clothes . I will be ready for late Archery! I want to give a plug for the Heater Body Suit. I used it for the first time up the mountians last Tuesday. It was 23 degrees with a stiff 20mph wind on the point I was hunting. I sat there from 6am til 1pm and I did not even have a hint of chill in my body. This suit works great and you will not get cold in it. This will be a big tool for me in the late Archery season to keep me in the woods longer. Pa is cold this time of year! Good luck , be safe, and hang in there RD!

I ordered one and still haven't got it yet , I hope to use it before my season ends .
I hope that Holliday and orr2003 get one too , they haven't logged in lately and I sent them E - Mails and P M s quiet some time ago.
When I check out the score card I saw that our team is now in fourth place so the rest of us inculding me got to get out there and get one.

Health update :
I went to the heart Dr. earlyler this morning for a follow up from my little heart attack and he checked me out and talked for a good hour or so .
Well after everything was all said and done , he gave the green light to go back into the woods and hunt but he advised me to use the buddy system and to be careful.
Now that muzzle loading season over and late archery is in , I can't wait to get out and score on one for the team.

Hey my fellow MEGA BUCKS team members I was looking at the score card thread and saw where we stand.
As of now : in first place is team 17 with a score of 794 7/8 , second is team 20 with a score of 621 6/8 , third is team 12 thats us with a score of 594 4/8 , forth place goes to team 22 with a score of 570 even and trailing behind is team 36 thats Rob's and Germs team with a score of 564 1/8 and then team 16 with a score of 513 3/8 .
The other teams are so far behindthat we shouldn't worry about them even coming close.
I just hope that Holliday Slim ,orr2003 along with hachet jack and myselfcan score on a good buck andmake a come back to put us in the lead again.
Hope you all have a good time with your family and friends this Christmas and New Yearholiday season.

merry christmas eve. everyone. i just got back from a wonderfullweek in cancun(i will post pics in a couple daays) sure didnt feel like christmas when it was 87 degrees out. im actually burnt in december. cant say i have ever done that before.. my family decided that we all should go down there and stay at a, all inclusive resort for a week since we never see each other any more. it was the best vacation i have ever had. all inclusive is the way to go. no bills at the ends of dinners/after some drinks. just eat and drink when ever you want and how ever much you want.. anyways.just got back about 6am.im headed to bed for 2 hours before i have to go do the christmas eve brunch with the whole family...i hope you all have wonderfull christmas.

I'm Done as of Jan 1st, 6:00 pm 2007 my season is officialy over .
No buck to put in the score card no doe ether , no meat in my freezer and no deer liver on the table.
I feel as if I let you guys down but it wasn't for lack of trying , I went out and hunted every chanceI had.
I'm not gonna make up any excuse's, it just thats the way thing s happens sometimes.
I like to thank each and every one of you for making such a strong effort andsubmiting your entrys.
It's been a fun contest for all of us and it's been great to serve as your captain , I hope maybe next year in june we all can meet at theHNI get together.
I had fun conversing with you all and will chat again some time when this contest is officialy over , take care and mayGod Bless you all.

I take it every body is done hunting ... well I guess we gave it our best shot and when I checked the score card we came in third place.
Not bad considering of all the teams we had this year , it's too bad we haven't heard from orr2003 and Holliday Slim since mid Oct.
I know it was alot of fun participating and getting to know all of you , maybe next year :)
