Woodline awsome pics and great story, he is a brute.......

Duckdog cant wait to see the pics I am rubbing it in to Rob because your buck I believe will put us in first...

We went out to do alittle turkey hunting today since we have a week off and no deer tags but they were non vocal today. We are going to go out in the pm to video our area and probably make us sick when one of the gients step out, but I figure they will only grow...

Bowhunter thanks for the pics with your shirt it makes me feel alittle better...lol

Man, I have missed 3 or 4 days on here and it seems like I missed a season's worth of stories and hunting. Congrats to Woodline, Q2, and Duckdog. That is great to hear about all of your success. We may end up winning this thing if we put a couple more deer on the ground!!! Congrats guys, and good luck to everyone that is still chasing their Mega Buck!!

Well, I took this weekend off of deer hunting and headed north to Kansas to go pheasant hunting. We had a great time, but didn't get into very many birds. We shot 13 birds in 1 1/2 days with 7 guys. It was really slow and not very many birds around, I think this years hatch wasn't very good. Still had a great time none-the-less, we saw a real nice muley about 300 yards out in a wheat field.I managed to get a couple of pictures before he ran off, but he was too far to get a good look at him. I will post some pics from the weekend, congrats and good luck to everyone, again!!

RE: 12- Team "MEGA Bucks" Official Thread

Well I just measured the rack and it scored 69 7/8. not as much as I thought he would score but I guess that’s how the ball rolls.
Well here’s how it all went down. Last Friday I was so excited that I was going to be off work all weekend so I could hunt sat/ and Sunday. Well then I get a call from my uncle asking me if I could come down to southern Illinois to help him Saturday cutting down trees. I felt like I had to say yes and I was thinkingI wouldat least have all day Sunday to hunt. I got down there sat/ and the "little tree job" took till 9 o’clock that night. Needless to say there was no way I was going to drive back 4 hoursthat late at night so I just crashed there.Sunday I left and went home. Got all my gear ready and headedout about 1ish.Got in my stand about 1:30. Time passed and about2 hours later I had a doe and small fawn come right under my stand. Then fifteen minutes later this guy shows up following the same trail the does came from.I knew this was going to be one of the last days I would be able to hunt but I thought well maybe I would let him pass still. I pulled back anyways for practice. Put my 20-yard pin on him and just watched him walk. Well then the buck had to stop broad side at exactly 20 yards away. I couldn’t hold the temptation back any longer. I let the arrow fly and hit him right behind the left shoulder. He ran off and about 2 minutes later I herd a "thud" and then it sounded like a boulder being rolled down a hill. I waited about 30 minutes and then went to find my arrow and the blood trail. Followed the trail about 60 yards and then the trail stopped right at the end of the steepest cliff on the whole farm. I looked down and there he was at the very bottom in the creek bed. It took two men a four wheeler and a winch to get him out and even then it took three hours before the was in the bed of my truck.
This was by far the most troublesome deer I have ever taken but it was all worth it in the end. And even though he isn’t quite a "mega buck" he’s was still a trophy experience.

Well team I sent PM's to the others that haven't scored and gave them an update on how well our team is doing .
Hopefuly they will check in and post some good news on thier hunting , I'll be out tomarow and try to score on a big one.
My daughter had surgery yesterday and will be coming back home soon , I had to babysit the grandkids when that was going on.
Had to move my stand to a diffrent spot , the last timeI was out I noticed some else use it and mess it up.
They didn't really do any damage to it , just enough to convince me to hide it deeper in the thick stuff so they can't see it from the trail.

RE: 12- Team "MEGA Bucks" Official Thread

RD, I hope your daughter is doing well. Thanks for emailing the others. Good luck getting that big buck. I was out tonight, looking for a doe, and ended up with a nice 115-120 class ten point buck sticking around my stand for an hour and 15 minutes. It was quite exciting, watching him lick branches, thrash trees, and make scrapes. He was very typical, and shows characteristics of a buck that was in that area 2 years ago. It looks as though those genes were passed on. Good luck to everyone who is still hunting!

Well guys, they are on top again. One of team 17's guys shot one that scored 80 something, putting them ahead of us. I am confident we will get more, it is prime time, and as long as we hunt hard and stay in the woods, we will put another on the board. Heck, even their team is rooting for us!!! Check this out: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1654266&mpage=22&key=&#17916 79

I believe he was a little confused, but Jester (member of team 17) said go team 12!! I got a good laugh out of that. Anyway, keep hunting hard and good luck to all that are still chasing there Mega Buck!!

Hi Team mates
Sorry about not being on in a while , been out trying like you know what to bag a buck.
My daughter came home last Thursday , her surgery went well and recouprating thanks for all your well wishes.
The Michigan gun season starts this coming Wednsday so that means I'm gonna have to hunt some priviate land.
I can still hunt with my bow during this season with my Combo License , its just I don't want to be on public land with all those CRAZY YAHOO'S that start tipping beers before they go in the woods and shoot anything that moves.
I don't have anything against guns or gun hunters accept those who drink while there out hunting , to me theres something wrong with that picture.
I had to take all my stands out because some idiot was messing things up at each one so I just took them out.
Its a shame that I had to do that , never had that kind of problem before I wish more people had respect for someones eles property.
Still haven't heard from Holliday , orr2003 or hatchet jack , I hope there out hunting and put another MEGA BUCK on the score card for us.
It's getting to be a tight finish with team # 17 and # 36 tailling behind but the last time I look at the score card , we where still leading.
Well gotta go and try to line something up with my other bother - in - law in hillsdale county , he might let hunt his father - in - law's farm talk to ya later.

First I would like to say Im sorry that I haven't posted on here for some time. My computer was on the blink. Second all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to all my teammates who have this team on the brink of a big win. Sorry to say I did not get a Buck on my trip to Kentucky or a Buck in my state of PA. I hunted hard in Kentucky but did not see one shooter buck the whole time we were there, what a let down this trip was!!!! I would get into details but my left wrist is still healing from the slits I did to myself. If I start talking about it again my right wrist will be next:(I hunted 3 days the last week here in PA and seen one nice Buck that was to far to shoot. The first season is over but I still have the gun season to still bowhunt and the late archery season after Xmass, so there is still alot of bowhunting left to try and score for the team! Man this great that our team has a great shot to win and I might throw out my 8pt or better rule so I can help this team score another Buck. Take one for the Team AH! Oh I did forget to mention that I did shoot a Doe in Kentucky out of frustration and to bring home some meat. I did take a picture of it with my Mega Bucks shirt and If I can figure out how to post it on here I will. Maybe I can email it to one of you computer Geeks and you can Post it. Its not over til Its over, and Congrats to my skillfull Bowhunting teammates you guys are the BEST of the BEST

Congratulations on the doe Hatchet! It is good to hear from ya! I wish you luck the rest of this season, and hopefully you'll score on a nice whitetail buck now! I went out this morning and saw 8 different bucks, but no does that were in range. 2 of the bucks were 140 +, so they are starting to move during daylight hours more now. Good luck to everyone, and shoot straight!

Just checking in. Man I feel useless, if I kill another deer with my bow and get it on videotape do we get any points for that? I've been having some good look blackpowder hunting. Last week me and my partner MDS saw a ton of deer and heconnected on a nice 7 pointer. Then Tuesday evening I took a nice five pointer with the Optima Pro. I though it was going to be a 6 or an 8 but after I found it I saw that he didn't have any brow tines. Opening day of gun season is Nov 18 so I will be going a little bit over the next couple of weeks. Then Dec 1 is the start of the late bow season for 2 of the counties I hunt in so I am going to try and get one on tape. Anyway good luck to all and hopefully we can hang on to this lead.

I'll post some pics of my balckpowder buck and my MDS 7 pointer.

Hi team
I think we do get extra points for a video hunt , we should check with Rob or check the rules and see what it says about video's.
It's been raiing and really windy here in Michigan for the gun opener , I don't think too many hunters are seeing anything running around in this weather.
I'm going to hunt on some private land Fri. and Sat. with hopes on tagging a nice buck for the team wish me luck ya all , I'm gonna need it.
Ithink Rob hasn't updated thescore card lately keeping us in suspense , it looks like were in the lead but with so many entrys in I don't think were in Kansas any more.

Hey guys.

I "think" they took the extra points thing out....the video thing. Rob's on his way down here, now....and I'll check with him. I got us accesss to a GREAT little honey hole....but the deer aren't big, at all. The little lady told me not to shoot the little deer (fawns). I told her I wouldn't. She told me then not to shoot the "mamas". I asked her if she wanted me to shoot ONLY bucks. "Yes".

Thanks RD for posting my Doe I shot in KY. I shot this deer on the 5th day of our hunt. Me and my hunting Buddy said that if we have a chance to shot a doe that day we would take one. At 9am I still haven't seen any deer that day. At 9:15 I had 6 doe walk right down the trail behind me to feed on the white oak tree I was set up on. I let the first 5 pass and shot the last doe in line still walking. The shot was about 18yards and I put the arrow through both lungs. The deer ran in a circle about 10 yards from my stand and droped right under my stand. That was nice. At least I came home with some meat from Ky. My time there was nice and we hunted hard. The bucks just were not there. It's a nice state and great people, but I would not go back to this Outfitter. Most of his stands were set up for rifle hunting. I tried several diferent spots with my climber each day. I had some other problems with this Guide but I will not get into that. All in all it was a good time and a new out of state experence. Thats Bowhunting and hunting with a Guide. {Licking River Outfitters KY] I will regroup and try to score for you guy's in the late archery. Keep Hunting Hard Boy's

Hatchet Jack THANKS RDHUNTER
