Hey, what's up fellas. I hope we have a good turnout on Team 12. I went to the member list and looked at our info and it looks like everyone is pretty active on Hunting.Net in general so hopefully the same will be truewith thecontest. The only name I couldn't find on the member list was oor2003 but I may have been putting it in wrong. Just a little info about myself. My name is Nate W. I will be hunting in VA mostly but sometimes NC. I am 31 and have two boys, Zach(12) and Nathan Jr.(5), I also have a little girl due around Oct. 26th. Yeah I know, right before the rut! I have been hunting all my life and bowhunting for about 17 years. This is my first year in the contest and I'm pretty hyped for the upcoming season. Anyway, I'll keep it short and hope to hear from everyone soon.

I guess I better introduce myself as well. My name is Matt and I will be hunting in Northern Indiana. Im 22 and have been hunting for about 10 years but most my hunting has been bird hunting. I have muzzleloader hunted for deer the past 5 years but this is my first year bowhunting. I know just what you guys wanted to hear;).

Well let me tell ya a little about myself , Hunting is all I think about ( beside my wife of course ) and archery is the only way I hunt.
I'm 50 years of age and retiring at the end of this month just in time for hunting season ( good timing huh ) so I'll be hunting all season long.
I live in Ypsilanti, Michigan and I hunt between Chelsea and Stockbridge on public land.
My season starts Oct. 1st and I can't wait, I'm ready to fill my tags .

Just another quick post, I sent pm's to hatchet jack and duckdog 132. I am going to send some to the others tomorrow unless someone else can do it tonight. I would but I get off work in a couple of minutes and my computer at home has been acting up.
By the way congratulations on you retirement RD, that is perfect timing.

Hello all, my name is Ben, and I live here in good ole Iowa. I have been bow hunting for about 12 years now. I also think about nothing other than hunting. I finally spotted a couple of shooters tonight, the first of the season. I would say they were around 125 and 150 respectively. The other good thing was that they were wandering right on past one of our 12 stand sights. I hunt with my bro-in-law, SWIowaHunter. I am one of the lucky ones that gets to go to work in this environment everyday, Bass Pro Shops. Hopefully we will all have good seasons, and I can make a contribution to the team. Our season opens on October 1st. Good luck everyone!

HeyMDS184 I didn't recognize you before. You missed the sign up deadline and unfortunately teams have already been picked. You should definitely sign up on the alternate list on the contest thread because there will definitely be some no shows. But I'm sure you will se me in the other forums and we can compare those trail cam photos we discussed.

Just checking but I think we are only missing oor2003, hatchet jack, and duckdog132. I sent pm's to hj and dd132 yesterday but I couldn't find oor2003 on the member list. If anyone else wants to shoot these guys a pm it might be a good idea, I'm not sure when everyone must be checked in by before they start assigning alternates. Does anyone know??

I got a read response from duckdogon 8/22/06sohe must have logged in and checked hisbox but I haven'tseen him yet.

If anyone can find the thread with the contest results from last year hook me up with a link. I just wanted to see what kind of numbers were put up.
I know Team xx had 8 out of 10 guys connect on bucks and that really put them over the top but I was curious about team averages and a few other stats. I see you lurking up there Holliday.

Look at the archives and you will see everything from last year, deer, scores, and winning numbers. It is good to see everyone so active this early. If everyone shoots a 100 inch buck or better we should win this thing quite easily. Good luck to everyone.

Well it seems like everybody's here with the exception of oor2003, New and I treid to contact him with no luck.
But with nine of us here we should try to come up with a name for our team, so let's see some thoughts.
It doesn't have to be creative or catchy , just something that all of us would be happy with.
Does MEGA BUCKS sound good to every one.

hey guys im finally here to pick up the rear. sorry. i didnt know they already picked teams. i thought they were going to pick in sept/ sometime. glad to see we have almost every one here.. to let you know a little about my self: my neme is jeff and im 20. i live in central illinois right next to pike county. i have been hunting since i was 6 and have been bow hunting for the last 8 years with 4 mounter to show. my biggest being a 160 class. i have no kids and a sweet heart that hunts just as much as i do. this year is looking real good. i have a wildlife eye and a few other digital motion camras that have caught some realy nice bucks within bow range of 5 different stands i have up.. as far as a name forour. i have no clue but i will put some thought into it and let you know what i come up with. i dont knowabout the rest of you guys buti have been having trouble sleeping since a couple weeks ago. season starts oct 1 here. and i cant wait. good luck and i hope to be talking to you guys soon.

RdHUNTER MegaBucks sounds ok to me and if HOLLIDAYSLIM comes up with a logo I have a buddy that is a printer and he could make us up some shirts I could send outfor when we score, we could post with them on as an added bonus for our team when we win this thing.Only thing I would need would be sizes and addresses long sleeve or short.Prices would be really cheap.RDHUNTER are you our Captin?Just an idea to make this alittle more fun.

Just a few to think about, and Slim that would be cool to have a logo.
Q2inwhitetails : no I'm not the captian, we haven't picked one yet but I guess I wouldn't mind taking on the task , since I'm going to be retiring soon, I'll have some time on my hands I just not sure what a captian has to do.

A few ideas....Freak Nasty 12...Dirty Dozen....Toast 'em & Roast 'em...probably stupid, but just a thought.

I like the shirt idea, something to set us apart from the others.

I have an idea to kill some time while we are waiting on season, lets post pics of some of our best deer.....doesn't matter if it's trail cam or one you have taken... I will start..

Here is my best deer (taken wit a rifle [&:]) (172 2/8" Gross NT)


Here is my cousin's first deer he shot off my place last year (184 1/8" Gross NT) Doesn't look that big in the pic, but trust me, the pic doesn't do it justice.


Here is a deer my buddy shot with his bow3 years ago (196" Gross NT) Biggest deer killed in Okla. w/a bow in 2003, 1/2 mile from where I hunt :D

Welcome everyone. Megabucks sounds good to me too. RDHunter gets my vote for team captain as well. I like to see that everyone is so active, I hope that stays. It makes it much more interesting when everyone is telling stories and giving each other a bad time.

Those are some awesome bucks! I will try and get some pictures posted when I have more time. My buck from last year is on the archives post in the contest. It was only 110", but that wasn't bad for a 6 point. My brother-in-law and I went into taxidermy to help curb the cost of getting deer mounted. So far, in 2 years, we have mounted 4 of our own deer. The 6 point was the smallest, and a 150 inch was the largest.

Most of the areas I hunt here in VA open the first week of October and in NC the Bow season comes in Sept. 9. I normallydon't go out too much that early I like for it to cool off just a little.

By the way, Is it October yet?!?!?!................How about now?!?!?

Your cousin got a nice one too ( 2nd pic. ) and your buddy, I bet he was a happy hunter ( 3rd pic. ) with that big buck.

There is a thread for Rob/PA in reference to alternates.He just wants a rough idea of how many no-shows so far.Alternates will probaly not be assigneduntil after thefirst week of Sept. I think we are down 2 right now hatchet jack & oor2003. There are 2 hatchet jacks on the member list and the one that matches our teammatelast post was 8/01/06, so he might not have checked in for a while expecting the teams would be picked in Sept. I still can't find oor2003. We should still probably go ahead and settle on a name pretty soon and make sure eveyone is o.k. with picking RDHunter as the captain. Did they have captains last year and if so what did they do??
