Me, my dad and my sister went hunting last night to a farm we just got permission to hunt and me and my sister already had spots setup so my dad went over the hill and sat in this old junk stand that we knew about. he wasn't expecting to see much but he went anyway. about 6:00 i hear a shot from his direction He calls me and says he shot a nice buck so my sister said she was gonna get down and go look at his deer so i said i would get down to. just about when i hung up the phone 3 does walk under my stand so i decided ill just stay till dark i ended up seeing about 6 does, 3 babies, and 4 bucks . 2 spikes a 4 point and a basket rack 8 point. so i get down at dark and thats about the conclusion of my hunt. ill post a picture of my dads buck when i get some time

Hey congrats to your Dad. That must be some noisy bow to hear the shot. We have a gun season right now to. Not much fun if you like bow. Gald you stayed in your stand. I know how wanting to go down is but you might as well always hold out if possible because getting 2 in one night is pretty cool too. Good to see some of the rest of the team signing on and telling us how it is going.

well first buck of the season in shooting range this year was this morning , i drew on him he got to about five yards perfect broadside and i did NOT RELEASE, the little fellow was had about 10 inch spikes and little bitty brow tines , at this point of the season i could not take him

Good call Bob, let that one go. I had an 8 point at about 3 yards this morning and let him go. I am holding out right now for a buck bigger than any I have shot so far, and he wasn't it. IfI see him again though, he may have to go down!

Hell of a weekend in the woods! The pre-rut is rockin'! I saw 24 deer last night, 11 bucks. Lots of 1 1/2 yr olds with potential, one giant 8 (130's) and my friend Brian shot a 150-160 9 point on the way back to the car. We got out of our stands early because a 'yote had scared everything off, so instead of us spooking them as they came back, we hit the road. We got about 50 yards across the cut corn, and we see a deer coming our way. We hunker down, brian puts his release on,assuming it isa doe. Well, I look through the binos when he is about 80 yards away, and I see rack and huge body. I grabbed Brians rangefinder, ranged him at 40, and he smoked it. We saw him go down, but left him for an hour, as we were unsure of the hit. Well, he is huge. I really wish I had gotten him, for our team, but I am happy for him. HIs parents/family doesn't hunt, and are real jerks, so he needed this to pickup his spirits a little. They just don't understand hunting, nor the $ that goes into it. I'll post pics later today. I didn't kill anything, put passed up more bucks thatI have combined in mywhole life!!

Congrats to your friend Brian. Too bad you didn't get him but it does sound like he needed it. I had a crappy weekend. Gun season with rain and snow. I sat with the bow all weekend and saw nothing but sure did get cold. Gonna try again this weekend. Hope the weather is better and the deer start moving in the daylight.

Well guys my 2 days in Wisconsin did not pay off as I hoped, I am back in IL now and I am going tohunt as much as I can this week. I did see 1 shooter buck in WI, he was not ready to come my way. I am going to it this week around here for a few days and head up back up to WI this week sometime with Justin to try to film a hunt. I will upload a video of the buck that was under my stand the other day as soon as I can. Good luck everyone!

I shot a hog sunday. saw a basket 6 point but let him go.

-1030-11PM leave for Rifle Point

1AM arrive at Rifle Point and sleep
530AM Wake up and hunt
11AM Get out of stand eat lunch and go work on my friends property about 20 min awayfor a few hours.
3PM get back say hey to all my friends who will be getting there and get back in the stand
7PM eat then PARTY till late
Sun
Hunt the morn and head out.

Hopefully I will have track and recover my 150 Class buck somewhere in there!(knock on wood) Im pretty excited as you can tell!

Here's a pic of his buck. We took these last night at like 9:00 in the black dark and they turned out real nice. I had never met his parents before last night, and his dad is a real dickhead I thought and his mom is just a dumb brawd. Her first comment was "Is that even big, couldn't prove it by me." I could have slapped her. I'm very happy for him that he got it, if nothing else just to show his parents why he spends money and time on hunting, which they don't understand.
I ordered a decoy and some more scents today, so this weekend I am going to pull our all the stops, mock scrapes, rattling, decoying, scent all over. We'll see! I know there has to be a big buck over on that property i hunt in Fulton County, just have to entice him to come out. It looks like the weather is really going to suck on Friday, but I'll be damned if I'm not out there, miserable or not! Good luck Todd here in IL, there sure are some dandies around! I'm getting spoiled real fast compared to hunting back home.

Alright, the only combination of names and numbers I didn't try was the one that I needed. HEre is the pic of Brian and his buck. He shot it with a Switchback and HyperShock broadhead. The last pic I took had his bow in it, and I think my camera broke because of it, damn Mathews!
