Guys, here is the pic, my wife took the pics on the digital, the flash didn't work worth a crap....I have some on a disposable that i bought tonight. I will get them turned in ASAP, because this pic sucks. Its a 5 pt with a 19"spread, 5 1/4 "brow tine and 23"main beam on his left side. This is the biggest buck I have ever killed by a long shot, just wish he matched up on both sides. I'll post the story in the bowhunting section.

Way to go dave...I think that's you, holding some type of critter. I can see a bow though

Can't wait to see some better pics. That's a big buck from your description. Were you hunting near Rob's area? he's good for those types of racks.
Troy,
That is so sweet of Dee and the boys, tell them thanks for the comments.
It's getting to be that time guys, I know we still got a lot more bucks to put down with the rest of you guys.

Dave! Way to go buddy! I'm real happy for you. It's a great feeling knowing that you just took your biggest buck ever. Looks like we're right back in the thick of things in this contest! You guys are driving me to keep at it every day, even though I only get two hours in the stand. I can't tell much from the picture, but it sounds like your buck has a really unique rack.
You guys are picking up my slack, and I appreciate that.
I went out again this morning after the big residential buck. He has been back through and opened up a new scrape next to an older one. I also snooped around a bit on my way out and found two more scrapes (they wereleafed over a bit)higher up on the ridge on a trail that works into a nasty thicket (where he spends those lonely afternoons). My goodness does this buck ever scrape up some big trees. Some of the biggest rubs I've ever found - a couple on maple trees the size of coffee cans. I think tomorrow I'm moving up over the top, there's a nice opening in the thicket that has a few trails in it, and I can't see up in there from where I'm at. Also, it would help me out with controlling my scent if I were on top of the ridge. I'm just not seeing the number and quality of deer that I want to be seeing, and it's driving me crazy.
At 7:00, I had a smalldoe come busting down off the top out of the thicket. I thought for sure he was following. Nothing. She ran down the hill, then back up, then back down, then ran around in a few circles, stopped long enough to groom herself and scratch her head, then raced past me and stood around some more, then ran back up into the thick stuff. What the heck was that all about?Do you guys reckonthat buck may have been tending thefawn's mother up in the thicket somewhere?
On the way out, I caught a forkhorn crossing near a gas well that sits in the middle of the woods. He was around 75 yds out, but I got a long, good look at him. It was like a bad concelation prize.
Troy - I watched your boys last night - they really took a good Fresno State team to the woodshed. I can't believe Zabransky is still there - seems like he's been under center for Boise forever.
Man, things are heating up with winter sports - the Penguins are kicking @$$, college fb, college bb tips off soon, pro fb (even though the Steelers are stinking it up).

Quick...
In the thick stuff, especially when your virtually setting right up on a big buck...and his travel routes...get up HIGH..ridge top saddles are sweet for this blowing the wind in what ever direction out over trees, by the time scent reaches the forest floor its a good distance from those trails you expect him on... I set up 25 feet or higher in situations like this. I have one particular stand in almost an exact carbon copy type scenario of which you are speaking..and I ironically I plan on sitting there tonight...rattling with the last 40 minutes or so of daylight..either that or I will be on the ground in Ole yellers neck of the woods tonight.. I have a good blind in there...great for calling. the evening thermals should work in my favor for this set up.. you need to be in there on him..he may answer a call too.
Dave I can barely make out that buck ...I cant wait to see your other photos..again way to go on the biggest buck of your life!
Hoosier, best of luck to ya bud...get one down this week!
Good luck everyone..I may be online tomorrow I may not..No kids here at work..we have a workday..I can see myself disappearing into the timber....LOL
Again, Dave and Ryan..way to get us back on the board...
Mark I emailed you the shirt logo artwork..let me know if you got it..thanks..
