What's for dinner[:'(];)

When I was younger I had some that looked just like that. It seems I'm pretty allergic to that crap. By the time I finally went to the doc I had that stuff al over[X(]. A good shot of penicillin and a few days later it was cleared up!

I learned to steer clear of that stuff. Luckily where I hunt now there isn't any poison ivy around.:D

Leaves of three.........let it be........;)

Ohhhhh man[:@]! Now I'm offended[8D]!

I should be setting up at least one stand this weekend, it's actually a bit of a puzzle for me. There's a field full of clover, a creek, and several trails that I thought I was set up beatiful on last year. Turns out, each stand I chose was wrong unless I was after fawns (which I did take one of). Twice I had obstructed 30 yard encounters with nice bucks and several times with a big boss doe, although one time it was probably because a hunting buddy of mine was on the other side of the field whacking away with a set of antlers.

I'll see if i can draw a picture with some good dimensions and detail of the area and see if you guys can't help me solve the puzzle.

The land I hunt looks like this!

That grass is 6-8 feet tall in spots. With a small river running right through the middle. It's around 120 acres. It's hard to get a set pattern because the deer can and do bed anywhere! Probably about 10-15 acres of woods, some thick some not really! I hunt mostly the edges along the river.

In case you haven't seen this. Here is the buck I arrowed last Nov.

The Official P&Y score is 134 6/8 Gross & 129 5/8 net!:D

I know that the eight I've been seeing will gross 140". We'll see when I get him on the ground;)

It's been awhile since I posted, so let me tell you guys what I saw this weekend. Moved my stand early Sat. morning. On my way out of the woods, my Dad and I saw.....if I was guessing.....at least a 150 class buck with a droptine on his left side(at least that is what it looked like to both of us). The best part is he was only 100 yards (give or take) from my new stand location. I know there are nice bucks in this area, and I hope to get a chance!!!:D:D

Here's a pic of a Doe, from one of my "bowhunting food plots"I mixed some leftover summer seed and some winter seed together and planted it! Don't know if that works but the deer arein it for sure! The only real stress our deer herd feel down hereis the late summer when all the plants are spent and not as palatable anymore. The acorns haven't fallen yet and the deer have to find something to eat. It's also usually still really hot and that's just another problem for those rascals! I did see two spotted fawns last week so that's good!

My cloths are clean, scent free and dry in their handy little scent free bags. My bow is dead on out to 60. My stands are in place. Now I just need the right weather conditions, and I'll be smokin;)

In precisely 34 days to this minute, I will be going to bed with butterflies in my stomache still wondering which morning stand I should try for opening day. I have to work so I only have a couple hours in the AM. Do I get up SUPER early and hunt the woods behind work? Do I hit my uncles field and hope the deer aren't already out in the field when i get there? (with dogs barking and the bastard accross the street running his backhoe or something[:@]) Then there's the thought of just heading out behind the house despite the fact that the herd around here is thin and far between but they're developing the land and this will be the last season I can hunt it?

Cripes my heart's already pounding![&:]

Skeeters have already been cut down by the drought, but we've got rain moving in in a few days, they'll probably come back with a vengeance!

Saturday morning I was covered up with bucks most of the morning. Three 6pters, two 8pters, one fork and a nice 3.5 yr 10 pt. Caught a glimpse of a doe at about 8am. All the bucks fed on acorns and sparred under my stand except for the 10pt which skirted the thicker woods about 20yards from my stand headed for bed. No shot opp on him.
I had to wear a hard hat to avoid being knocked unconscious by the golf ball sized acorns raining down all around me. They are definetly holding up in the Oaks right now....Only saw a few deer in the fields at night which normally are loaded up with deer.
Fun weekend but didn't accomplish my mission of taking out a baldy. I know where the bucks are but the does got me scratching my head. Oh well! There's always next time.

I can't wait until this weather turns. It's so freaking hot I don't want to go to my good spot and screw it up. Plus I don't have high hopes of a P&Y buck showing up during legal shooting hours when it's this hot. Next week sounds nice highs in the 60's;)Ialready burnt up my doe tag so I only have one left and he's going to have to be big:D

Hey guys. I haven't been around much. I saw the site has changed. I still can't change my profile though. RobPABowyer couldn't help (thanks anyway, Rob) and I contacted HNIJustin with no response.
