I personally like the red logo. I also think if there is a way to get our names in the red section, that would be pretty cool. As far as team captain goes, if Atlasman agrees.....then I say he is our captain!!

Your logo doesn't offend me in the least. In fact I think it's a very cool logo. The fact of the matter is that their are anti's that surf these sights and could use pics like that against us. You know how these idiots think. They'll take that pic and make upsome stupid storyabout it and show it all over the world[:'(]

Offended[:'(]? No! It takes a lot more than that to offend me! It's a matter of opinion mostly, but also a desire to maintain a particular self image.

I do also have a smaller version of the red logo with names on it, but it's on my laptop. I'll get it fired up later and post it.

I'll tell you that it's not really hard, but right now the price point on even digital trail cameras is coming down to the point that it's not that financially advantageous to build one. If you're up for the challenge of making one and have at least some propensity for soldering then it's really fun. I've made two 35mm cameras, one costing me about $50 and the other about $60 (including the cameras bought on ebay).

If you are up for the challenge, don't mind spending a little more, but want to make a really nice full featured camera then check out the controller boards and kits available at http://www.pixcontroller.com I believe that site is actually by someone who took the plans available at Jesse's hunting page to the next level : http://www.jesseshunting.com/site/homebrew-cams.html

Hey nice logo;)

47 loooooooooooooong days and counting!

So for Trae, and anyone else interested, I built a couple of game cams using the plans I got from Jesse's Hunting Page.
The basic parts are simple:
PIR sensor ($8 light kit at Walmart)
A Canon Owl camera ($30 (or less maybe now)on ebay)
An ammo can (5$ from sportsmans guide or at a surplus store)
Some glass or photo filter lenses (free to $20)
A relay, a couple switches, a couple resistors, leds and diodes, a couple connectors. ($20 altogether)
Glue, hook up wire, soldering iron, solder

THe trick is to first modify the sensor according to the plans, then get it to turn on your led. Then wire the camera to the sensor (using a connector if you're smart ;) along with an on/off switch and attach/insert/arrange it all in the ammo can. It's not hard, but it can be frustrating. I started simple with my first camera and luckily chose an easy sensor (Radio SHack model, curently discontinued [:@] ) My "new and improved" model is too sensitive and takes too many pictures. My last roll had 18 pictures of one fawn taken all in one minute, plus the buck I posted pictures of the other day.:)

I've made three attempts at a counter / delay circuit all to no avail. Either I get it wrong altogether or I screw it up[:@] Good thing I gave up being an electrical engineer eh?[8D]

Thanks Trembow! I'm gonna give it a try, I'll let you know how it works out! I really like the new logo guys, it looks great! I'm proud to see it on the other forums, and sometimes Iget asked questions about it!!!

My season starts in 44 days here in Alabama! But I'm cheating this year [8D]!!!! In17 days I'm goingto North Carolina to huntat the Occoneechee Lodge, and between then and October 15, I'm gonna hunt a little in Georgia with my brother! Man I'm ready to get out there!!!

My club is starting to bush hog and spray herbicide this weekend, then we'll plant food plots around the first of October! When do y'all plant your food-plots? I've already gone out there and put in 5 "special" plots for bow hunting, I'm the only one that bow hunts in my club!!! :D:D:D

I do have to admit though that it has been unbelievably warm in NY this year and I can't really say I would want to sit in a stand all day sweating and getting eaten by bugs.

When the cool fall weather rolls in though I will be counting the minutes.

I pegged down a toad this weekend on some public land. Not much pressure either. Buck already has a well established rubline. This is the earliest I have ever found sign like this. Trees are torn apartalluding toa very wide and tall rack.Problem is the only way to setup on him is on the ground but favors a west wind which is good.
