I am shooting an 04 Martin Razor X, 29.5" @70#. 7595 GT XT hunters and thunderhead 125's.

Quick,
Don't you love how people see you are from allgheny county and automatically think you have a deer hunting heaven spot. Most of the places I haveto hunt near me aren't that great. Yea some of them have some big bucks, but they also have guys every hundred yards as well.

To All of you...Sorry I haven't been online the last week and a half. I was out of town on work. Anyway, I hope you'll still have me. I saw that everyone posted their seasons. I live in Southwest Michigan and our season opens October 1st. It runs until November 15th. Then archer will reopen on December 1st and run until the end of the month.
I will try and post further later and I don't know if all of you were in this contest last year but it is definitely a blast.

I know what ya mean, Rybo. I don't live in Pittsburgh anymore, I'm down in Uniontown. I was staying in South Oakland while I was in law school - no deer there. Access in Allegheny County is really tough to come by.

I wouldn't mind finding a good hunting spot in the Allegheny County WMU (2b?) - I've heard that there's some good hunting out around the airport that's worth checking out, but once upon a time, there was enough time. This year, I'll be hunting off Route 51 near Perryopolis. I've found a little slice of heaven down there, but we'll see how it plays out this season. They'rebuilding houses at a record pace on the neighboring land, putting in a development. There's also a few of those natural gas wells going in, which changes the lay of the land a bit.

I'm seeing good bucks out that way, the biggest problem now is getting one to standbroadside at twenty yards in October.

Hey Fellas!

SUMHUNTER welcome aboard the "XX"

Glad to see you made it. We are down to two guys left for checking in. Everything is looking good guys!

I have been busier than cat covering crap on a hardwood floor. Sorry I havent been in lately. Logging has had me busy for the past 10 days straight. I finally took a day off today to spend with my wife and sons. Its been nice.

I am happy to see everyone is out scouting and getting ready! Ryan I amhappy for you bud that you had such a good time in NY... hotties everywhere ....... I BET!!!!!!!
it sounds like we all have some good potential in our areas. You PA guys, I realize you guys have some enourmous hunting pressure, a tip of my hat to you guys that bow-harvest in that state!. I am very fortunate here in that we have a lot of pressure during rifle season, but not so much during archery, I can usually find a quiet place to hunt whitetails the first week of September. After that the archery elk hunters really hit the woods and make a lot of noise!

GOODNEWS, I got a hold of the T-shirt guy. He said he can screen up what ever we want. So guys do you want your real name...ie Troy, Ryan, William...etc on the back of our shirts... on the USA MAP..or do you want our HNI names...shed,rybo,hoosier...I thought our HNI's would be cool..but our first names are shorter so either way I dont care.

Camo Shirts with chartrues map on the back of the 50 states our names in our home state and then on the front will be a XX with a screaming arrow through it. Does that sound ok???

I pulled two stands today from one County and Transferred them to my newly located hawg buck site. I know I know I told you guys I would get you that video. I will soon> I start back to school next wednesday, I can use their Windows Movie maker to get it out to you... I have just been too busy logging... to get over there... I may have an arrow in one of those big bucks Tuesday....opening day! next week....Its still looking good, they are still using that food source..the biggest obstacle for me is about 20 other critters hitting it way before the big boy shows upt...I am gonna have to be VERY CLEAN and smell of pretty much nothing to defeat all those noses, ears and eyes... its amazing how those big mature bucks use those subordinate deer to buffer thier entrance to a food source. The winds in there are very tricky..too...I am up to the challenge though, I think next week is going to pay big dividens..if not I will stay after those big fellas all of Sept and Oct. My goal this year is to harvestmature bucksand nothing under 140 gross. Iam commited tothis even if I eat my tags! As for everyone else I will say this again... Harvest whatever makes you happy. Any deer that makes you happy is a trophy in my book.

William, try a two string cordless peep. No malfunctions then...ask for the larger diameter... have a pro shop set you check your draw length and most defnately shoot one type of arrows.. keep everything consistent. Make sure your paper tuned shooting bullet holes and then check your broad head flight..even though your shooting mechancals I still would check any differences in field tips and broadheads...

I shoot a Bowtech Liberty 80lb, ACC 3-71's, Steelforce titanium 100 grain Hellfire Heads.. Alpine Soft Lok 5 arrow quiver, Alpine stablizer... 7 days... till season opens !

Quick..great deer hawler! sweet... your always incognito!

Troy as for the shirt I like the idea of HNI names on the back but if everyone else likes real names I am fine with that to.

As for the bow when it comes to hunting I only use one type of arrow the carbon express. I just shoot the others for field point practice just to stay tuned up. I am going to the bow shop this weekend to get it all worked out. This is only my 3rd season bow hunting so I don't have any idea how to tune my bow. The owner of the local shop is a real good guy and a tournament shooter. He is always willing to help out as much as possible.

I was also reading the new hunting and trapping guide for this year and I was wrong when I said I would be able to shoot 9. It turns out that their are 13 counties that are going to be deer reduction counties. This means I can take 4 deer in each county plus my regular tags for a whopping total of 60 yes that is not a typo but 60 deer. I will be busy this year. Most of those are does all but 1. I only get 1 buck so I better make it a good one.

William

HAHAHAHA.... I get 1 deer tag ...then pay non-resident prices for my second I have to make my tags count...

Good idear... have that pro..work it over for you and get the kinks out. I would have it paper tuned, its easy, your just shooting through paper to make sure your arrow is flying true and not fishtailing to a side. He will help you out.

Good luck
Troy

Shed, the shirts sound great. I would prefer Dave on mine, but no big deal either way, just let me know how much I owe you.
