Il,
You got to love that early christmas present to yourself. I get like that too, I just ordered a new pair of steiner predator binos. Been needing a new pair of compacts since my other pair went bad on me. Don't want to bring up the brand because I have many other optics from them that have done me well. It might have been cause thiswas a refurbished pair, I'll never do that again. Worked fine for the 1st year, then they warped to where they are giving me a double image.

Troy,
Good luck still getting after them bucks, can't wait to they post up the journal readings. Also can't wait to see those mounts.

As far as displays go, my buck from this year is at the taxi and he'll go in the living room, replacing the one already there, and that one will go downstairs. I also have a hide in the freezer from a doe that I plan on tanning myself and adding to my downstairs room that holds the rest of my hunting/fishing mounts. I need to make that room nicer so that my"trophies" can look better set against a better backdrop. I also need to display my skull mounts better. As of now they are just setting on shelves or desks.

Anthony,

Your bow set up sounds very nice. As for the Trophy Taker the thing I like most about it...is its simplicity.

I give up some FPS with my Liberty but the quality attributes it contains versus a little speed outway the negative...positively for my hunting. I love the Liberty's brace height and forgivingness. Also I shoot an 80lb Liberty, ( I dont believe bowtech offers the 80 liberty limbs this year?)I am a little bit of a KE junky, yet I can draw this bow like its a 65lb bow. I think this Liberty and I will grow old together.

Anthony, most definately if you come out to Idaho and are remotely in my neck of the woods.. Northern Idaho, please look me up. I would bet for cattle purposes that Southern Idaho would be more conducive.

Good luck hunting my friend, Hunting in the snow is something I really enjoy.

Troy

Th Tribute is the only one Bowtech is offering with the 80,90,100# limbs this year... The Liberty and Justice have been moved over to the Diamond line of bows.. Don't know what they are offering..

I hear you on simple. I always liked my APA Ultimate shoot through for the same reason..Knothing could go wrong on that.. This is my first dropaway, well besides the Trap door, but oh well...

I hope to find you more about this place but I might have to drive into Chicago land to get the info... No biggies..It could be interesting.. If he is showing us the brochure, and went out of the way that must mean he is at least remotely serious...My FIL is a strange, strange man. If it is at all near Coeur I will let you know Troy.. My guess is it would be in the Southern however... But you never do know these days.

I AM PUMPED!

Rifle season is over! and only 8 days until late Archery season! I need it to do some research on a couple specific bucks. I couldnt ask for better backtracking conditions. I will have a write up on the journals on backtracking specific bucks...soon...This weekend I will be knee deep in snow scouting my fanny off! I love this time of the year. Snow, Cold, no rifles, and the snow reads like a book. Not only for the upcoming archery season but for next years rut movements! I will most likely have a few stands to move and hang..once I get my scouting done in the next 4 or 5 days...Bucks here are still breeding does as thelady deerare finisnihg up their first cycle of estrus. But by the 10th (the opener) the big boyswill be gravitating back to a reclusive energy conserving feeding phase...

Carbohydrates and bedrooms are key! Good luck team XX for the guys still hunting. I talked to my Taxidermist this morning again. I get my bucks 04 and 05back in two weeks...I cant wait to put them with the rest of the boys...

Happy holidays guys!

Hey guys how are things going. Congrats to all of those who have killed something lately. It has been a while since I have posted I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. I have not been out hunting in a while but I hope to get out soon. I will just be looking for a nice doe to kill because that is all I am allowed.

Troy I can't wait to read the journals. Sounds like you have some great conditions right now. I love hunting in the snow.

BBM I was just wondering what your buck scored and when we would get to see some pictures.

I hope that everyone is having a great season and that every thing goes well. Goodluck to everyone that is out thier hunting.

William

I may or may not get out on Monday.. Thinking about whether it will be worth it or not. Shotgun season is going and will have been on for 4 days when it closes again on Sunday night the question is this. I have 13 acres of timber that have not been hunted with a gun but I did see someone has driven near the timber... Maybe looking for the doe I saw running yesterday at dusk towards that area. It was stumbling prety good but I watched her go 1/4 of a mile and she wasn't slowing down. Kind of wonder if she was hit..If she was, she wasn't hit very hard. I would think she wasn't hit but she was struggling a little bit over that chisled field.. Well, this 13 acres hasn't been pressure (Nor has the 40 acres directly across the road from it (Well, I guess I can say the 1600 acres around the house has had no pressure but most of it is chisled field). ... What I am getting at is sometimes these areas that get little or no pressure during gun season are actually pretty good after gun season because they became sanctuaries. I always saw more prints after season in that one 13 acre patch of timber than before.. I might have to go out there..

It has been a bit slow in here, apologize for my part in that... Just been swamped with working on the other house, trying to get it primed, painted and tiled before the plumber and electrician come into do the final kitchen and bathroom work.. Taking forever.

Well guys I am all done for the year. Filled my last doe tag today and donated her the the hunters sharing the harvest program. Things just worked out well and fell into place for me this season. I am fortunate to hunt in places where there are lots of deer and liberal bag limits.
