Default Best mechanism for hunting release?

After this season I willbe getting a new hunting release. It willbe some type of wrist strap release as that is what Iprefer. My question comes regarding the releasejaw mechanism. Hook, single caliper or double caliper? My current setup uses a string loop with a hook releas. I will be keeping my loop. What are the pros & cons to each style. I'm looking for opinions or technical info.
Thanks.

I have heard that the center release double jaw releases are the best. They give you a more even release from the middle everytime. Sometime if you have the single jaw, the string can rub on the straight edge or the jaw, not really affecting much but could throw off your consistent release.

My thoughts on a hunting release is that I want it as simple as possible. I don’t want springs or other little pieces that can break in the field. Also, I don’t like big ‘wads’ of plastic in my hand…. jmo

One of the simplest but yet sturdiest designs I have found is a Fletchhunter, which is what I’ve been shooting for the last 5-6 years (Deluxe Wrist Strap)…. It’s a solid release. Here’s a link:

Scott Silverhorn was meant for you.

Dloop shooters, who want a fast simple way to hook up during crunch time. With my open hook release, i can clip to the string with out looking one handed, 100% of the time...it is one fluid motion..left hand reaches for bow on hook, and right hand reaches toward string and instantly hooks up into dloop....never take eyes off of deer, much easier and much quicker.

Any type of caliper release is like a pinch claw, you have to visually take your eyes off the deer, look down at the string and pinch down on the dloop...atleast I did anyway. Ill shoot an open hook release as long as I shoot a Dloop.

I was fearful of the loop slipping off the hook, but I tried and couldnt get it to do it at full draw, you would literally have to hold your release hand like 8" from your face and turn your wrist as sharply as possible towards your jaw, even then it is difficult.

I shoot the Scott Sabortooth and love it. I changed from a cheaper brand release and I honestly believe it improved my shooting. It is about a year old, been shot a ton, and has never failed me.

This is the exact same one I have. You can lengthen or shorten the release and it is a buckle strap which makes it pretty quite.

I shoot the True flight hurricane buckle. Simple, and very, very comfortable.

Not much help.....as I shoot a target release for hunting, now. I'm more consistent with it.....and I just keep it attached to the string all the time. I shoot the Carter Just-B-Cuz.
