Find someone to take you with them, so u get the feel for the woods. Make sure they are ethical and safe. go for walks on your own and such. thats just the start. once you start theres so many ways to branch off and do your own thing, your own way. its hard to explain

yea we need all the people we can get lol. 22 is a good squirrel gun. And if alot of ur friends hunt give you something to do with them. And a 30-30 doesn't kick(if it does I can't feel it lol) and that would be a decent deer gun if you wanted to do that. Just my .02

I agree with what they both had to say. Keep it safe and ethical, use common sense. I would say go ahead and read about hunting and safetly to get the general idea of it so when you decide to take your test for your lic. you'll do better. As for the gun size, i would say go with what you are most comfortable and easiest for you to handle safely.

Well, if you haven't already taken one, sign up for a hunter's safety course. Learn the basics. Then talk to some of your friends about tagging along with them next time they go to the range. That'll let them know your interest is serious (plus you can shoot what they shoot). In the mean time, do a lot of reading and ask a lot of questions. There's a lot to learn.

I Live in alaska, and hunting has been my way of life.
just recently one of my friends became interested in hunting, and i took him out. we went hunting for grouse. didnt get anything, but he is hooked for life
i bet if you ask a friend that hunts to let you tag along, i bet they will be more than thrilled to take you along
