I hear the chains and locks coming as I type...lol... This is a topic that I think will not go away...The choosing of a Mod. has been so secretive that and kept so hush hush that it has almost become it' s own secrete club { so to speek}...I also think that to defuse the situation the fundamentals of being a Mod should be posted and all should be able to vote on who can and who should not be a Mod....

Yes I agree the the person that has been made a Mod. after only being on for 4 months is very nice,,, But that still does not excuse the fact that he has only been on for such a short time....Come on people lets set up some ground rules that we can all fallow...Then we can all be on the same page and qustions like this will not be popping up all the time...

Ya know, I popped in here because I enjoy talking to young people about hunting and such. And the first post I read is this mess. What makes any of you think that when you join a free site like this one, and post something like this, that someone owes you a response? Or owes you anything for that matter? Grow up and enjoy the site for what it is. You aren' t paying anything to this site so stop acting like someone owes you something.

...and Danny got to it before I did.

Children, pay close attention now: this is a site where you can come and go as you wish. The people who put this site up have the authority here; just as they put it up, they can govern it however they see fit, and they can take it down if they want. In the meantime, if they want to name a particular poster ' moderator,' they can do that. It has nothing to do specifically with the time spent on the boards, nor male/female, American/non-American, or anything else. They find people they think would make good moderators. You honestly think you guys are more qualified to say who is and is not upholding the administration' s standards??

Why are you all not moderators? I think you can look at the whining in this post and figure that out for yourselves. If you handle yourselves with maturity and contribute something meaningful to the boards, maybe one day they' ll need more moderators, and your name will come up. Maybe it won' t. Seriously, who cares?

And please, stop using so many bleedin' emoticons - they' re giving me a headache. You are not laughing out loud, nor rolling on the ground laughing, nor laughing your *** off nearly as often as your posts seem to convey.

Hey Danny & Hunter....no one is crying over spilt milk just making a suggestion on my part. Wish I was as young as you think I am but I am not. I am pertaining to the Chat Room not the Board. Seems like things are going smooth over here but not the same in the Chat. I just feel that the Members should have a say in things that pertain to them also. Having an input to whom they would like as a Mod helps on not getting the good old boys buddy buddy thing started. Having Members input on re-evaluating the current Mods wont hurt is there is nothing to hide. No one should object, I know I would not mind if I was judged by others, after all we are judged by some one constantly all our life. I still would lke a response to my questions and that is not to much to ask of any one, not even Admin. They have my e-mail addy and so does every one else that wants it.........God Bless

Age has nothing to do with it. Although most of the posts on this thread are definately juvenilish.

Like FL/GA Hunter said, the proprietors of this site can do as they please, and don' t have to answer to anyone. If someone doesn' t like that, they can go play somewhere else. People join a site like this, then think that because they grace the place with their presence, that they are owed something for this. If no one answers a question or post, tough, move on.

Danny - You made the point that because this is a Free site that we should, or dont, have any say in anything that goes on in the forums. We shouldnt be able to vote on anything, or voice an opinion, but isnt that how most of us were brought up? I dont know about any of the rest of you, but I was always brought up to stand up for what I beleive in, and this is something I do in fact beleive in.

As someone else posted, I think there is a lot of " Buddy Buddy Brown-Nosing" going on. I have been going to the HuntingNet Chat for a little over 2.5 years. I have taken the time to earn the respect of the members, and being a kid that was no easy task. But I took the time to do it, and I acheived my goal. I am liked by quite a few members, and am respected by a lot of the younger members. One member joined the Cahtroom and was there no more than a MONTH and became a Mod. Im not going to name any names, but that " Irked" me. As I said before, I would like to be a Moderator, but from what Ive seen, I dont think I would want the BS that goes with the Title.

If you didnt like the Posts, you didnt need to say anything. The old saying " If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all" comes to mind. You are right, we arent paying anything to come to this site, and we all appreciate that. You vote for a President, you vote for a Mayor, you vote for a Govoner, why not vote for a Moderator?

FL/GA Hunter - As I mentioned to Danny, " If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all" . We may be Children, but we' re tired of being told to " Drop It" or " Forget About it" because of that simple fact. Age has nothing at all to do with this. Do you think that we as kids dont see what goes on in the Chat room? We notice how things work, we notice when a member joins, and when a member becomes a Mod. We never once said we were anymore qualified to voice an opinion on who should and should not be a Mod, we would simply like to know just how the process works. No one asked to BE a Mod, we only wanted to know how to go about it.

We are not whining, we are just wondering why, when all other posts about this topic were answered so quickly, why Bauer' s post still has NOT been answered. And about the Emoticons, we' re kids, this is our forum, if we want to use them, we will. LOL, LMAO, ROFL, those things are what we say when we think something is funny. Im sorry if the inner child inside has died and rotted, but we are still kids, and if we think something is funny, we' re going to let you know. The fact that you come into our forum and complain about our topics, is FUNNY. I laughed at that. This forum was made for Younger Hunters to come into to talk about what they wanted to talk about. It wasnt made so that we would start a post and then have some Old Humorless fool come in here and complain about what we want to know about. Again, I find that it is rude for you to come in here and complain. [:-]

Well then Danny, you should notice that that remark wasnt directed toward you, or made because of the " discussion" about the Moderators posts. It was directed at FL/GA Hunter because of his remarks about using emoticons and saying " LOL, LMAO and ROFL."
