i have heard their 870's are good but also heard bad things about the "quality" of their guns

870's are real nice. My dad's got an old one that's got at least 30 years of hell that he puts guns through. Still functions great.

The quality of the Remington 870 is some of the best you will find in a pump action shotgun. They do have a tendancy to jam on ammo brands that it doesn't like though.........

Just go with a Benelli....then you don't have to worry about anything.....

x2 haha. I'm not sure how much clearer I can say it moss, the quality of the 870's obviously pretty decent if it's that old, and been in too many duck blinds (waterfowl hunting is FAR from easy on guns) and in the turkey woods too many times to count, and still going strong.
I prefer the semi though, I'll stick with my inertia driven 2000

im sticking with my 1943 winchester model 12 for waterfowl and turkeys my gramps used to duck hunt on the ocean way back in the day and i still use it to this day. now that is quality you can never get from a remington only a winchester.

They are actually very good. Benelli fixed the loose forend problem they had and added the ComforTech system. If I was looking for another pump action, I would look at them after the Remingtons.....if they weren't so darn ugly.....LOL

My dad uses an 870, and he's taken very nice deer with it. I use a 30-06 semi auto, (Remington of course) and I haven't had any problems with it.

Yeah, the 870 is a darn nice gun, but like I said, it likes to jam on certain ammo brands. But there is an easy fix for that....don't use that brand!!!!!! LOL

I had an 870 before I got my M2. It was a great gun!!
