What are you guys pulling?

I"m 15 turning 16 5"10 165lbs and shoot 70lbs with a 28.5 inch draw. I would go with a bow thats adjustable.... like 45-55lbs or 45-60lbs. I wouls start out at 45 lbs or so so u don't overbow urself. This will also let u focus on the fundamentals of archery and you won't get tired as quickly. When shooting a bow your body is using different back muslces that don't always get used everday that much. for example.... my friend is 6'4 225 and couldn't pull back a my older bow set at 64lbs with 75% let off. So start low and work your way up in poundage. good luck and have fun

Who cares, the the most u can pull with COMFORT, i pull 60 pounds, but i could pull 75 - 80 pounds, just wouldnt be comforatable at all ( and prolly couldnt do it with a deer in front of me ) but as long as its legal your good to go, deer can be killed with under 30 pounds of pull, but when you get in low weights like that broadhead selection and placement becomes a big issue....

It is unethical to even attempt a shot at a deer with a 30 pound bow. The penetration that is needed to get to the vitals will not occur an a mature whitetail. You will end up wounding the animal and it will suffer untill it dies. Don't do it!

redneck bowhunter, you are WRONG( in my opinion ), with the right arrows, and right broadheads( two blade cut on cantact ), and a well placed shot u can and will get into the vitals.. wile i do agree you shouldnt use 30 unless thats just all you can pull, i do not agree that it wont penetrate into the vitals.. all this being said i think 30 isnt legal in most places, but is in some

I said on a MATURE animal. A three year old buck or doe has some well conditioned thick hide that a 30 pound bow will have enough trouble getting through. Then it has to travel through fat, tissue, and muscle, plus go through two lungs. Uh Un I don't think so, not going to happen. There are no places (to my knowledge)that allow 30 poundsfor a hunting draw weight. Even if thats all you can pull it should still not be used. If you still want to bowhunt but do not have the strength to use a compound of legaldraw weight thenget a good crossbow with automatic cockers. Maybe if you shoot a fawn at 5 yards it would work but noton regular shooter size deer. The only hunting I would recomend with a 30 pound bow would be rabbits and squirrels.
