Default Pheasant plots

I would like to attract and hold more pheasants on my land. What else is good, other than sorghum? Do I need to plant a large plot, or would 1/2 an acre be good enough? Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it's a little late to plant anything this year, but I want to get started on getting the plot ready for next year.

Keep the hedgerows wide, and plant as much as you can. A 1/2-1 acre plot may hold a few pheasants, especially if you leave it standing, and neighbors cut their corn, or other row crops.

Just leaving weeds to grow can help pheasants survive the summer. I heard ragweed is excellent for pheasant and quail because the can walk in it, but are sheided from above from hawks. I'd rather have corn I think though.

When I lived in ILL. it seems they hid in grassy draws and dirty fencerows. Low, thick brush is what they like. Got a lot of Pheasants out of stands of cane break (that's what we called it). If you can walk thru it easy, it's not thick enough.
