Mother nature may have played a nasty trick on me. I live in NE PA and watched the weather to try to coincide a good dry period with a time I could spray my clover plots with Vantage. Well as I saw it last Wed or Thurs was going to work. Weatherman said no rain either day and chance of T-Showers the following days. Well Thursday I sprayed at mid day. Now wouldn't you know it that night I am awakened by a good T- Storm. Doesn't it figure!

Anyone know or have experience spraying with only 10-12 contact time before it rains? I think Vantage has a good sufractant so maybe this will help me.

10-12 hours is probably plenty of time to do the damage. What i would suggest is walk throught the crop good and inspect your kill. If it needs it respray but i believe you should get an adequate kill with the way you did it.

I understand Vantage has no surfactant in it but it should work well. You'll need to wait about 3 weeks before you notice any dead plants. Then spot spray if necessary. You'll be pleased.

i'll 2nd the 3 weeks waiting period. i spot sprayed some generic sethoxydim in my clover. after one week the grass looked just like it did the day i sprayed it. i presumed that the stuff was old or that i had done something wrong since when i use gly on grass i can tell a difference after a few days, let alone a week. but about 3 weeks later i checked it and the grass patches were very brown.

sethoxydim- Where can you buy generic brands of this?

i went to a local farm and feed supply store. this is the kind of place where they have dog dips each spring, sell fish to stock on occasion, and you only see farm trucks with feed sacks in the parking lot. the brand was "hi-yield" and was around $20/pint. there is no surfactant in the generic stuff, you can add a little bit of dishwashing liquid.

i've also seen the same stuff for sale in garden supply and nursery stores but it's usually a few bucks more expensive.

i've never seen it at an xyz-mart.
