Default Fertilizing white oaks

I read some where that fertilizing white oaks will help with the acorn production. I remember they said to dig with apost hole digger around the drip line and add fertilizer.

What I don't remember is how far a part should the holes be? How much fertilizer? What analysis? 10-10-10 I think.

Default RE: Fertilizing white oaks

Biologic makes some tree spikes the are fertilizer in spike form that you simply drive into the ground around the drip line of the tree. I think some other companies make them also but not sure of the name. Ive bought some from the local feed store a few years ago, they worked pretty well for white oak trees, the acorns were huge and the deer seemed to like them better.
