Fertilizing Oaks, Persimmons, etc...???
What type of fertilizer is best for oaks, persimmons, etc.
What time of year?
How do you do it?... Just around the drip line?
Thanks.
Also, any suggestions for fertilizing natural browse?

RE: Fertilizing Oaks, Persimmons, etc...???
Just use 10-10-10 or a comparable fertilizer. I like to poke holes and fill the holes with 1-2 cups of fertilizer around the drip line. This gives the trees quicker access to the nutrients, especially the slow moving phosphate. Do this in the spring before the leaves open although it should be OK later as long as the soil is moist and there isn't a dry spell. Another rule of thumb is not to fertilize after July 1 unless it's a low Nitrogen fertilizer.
