I have bought an inexpensive timer feeder. I have never used a timer.
We have leased property in MD - I am putting out for the purpose of feeding the deer
Does anyone have any recommendations on feeding times?
How many times a day to feed?
How long the feeder should spin?

When to feed? Dawn and at least an hour or 2 before dusk. Thats twice a day.
How long? That might kinda depend on how many deer (birds, hogs etc) are gong to be dining at your feeder. I would set it at at least 5 seconds and increase from there if needed.

i have one of those inexpensive timed feeders too. from the factory, it is set at 6 seconds of spin at daybreak and again at 60 minutes before nightfall. the setting and feeding times and amounts and all that other stuff can be changed (it' s much more difficult than reprogramming a windows computer). if the battery is removed, it reverts back to the original factory setting. i' ve tried several different varations, 3 seconds and 2 feed times in the morning etc., but it seems to work best with factory settings. it goes through about 40 lbs of corn in 8 days.
