If I remember correctly, 2-4-D is used on lawns to kill broadleaf weeds. It will kill clover. But it does not hurt the normal lawn grasses. I don' t think it would be the preferred chemical to use on a food plot. Check with your supplier and see if they have a product called " Grass Out" . Similiar to Poast, it can be used on cloiver plots. Maybe someone else can suggest another product if you plan for a total kill.

Russ, This particular 2 acre' s I havent did anything to yet, It is full of grasses, poison and weed' s etc. So killing the clover isnt a concern, Home depot and lowes has round up, but they want $100.00 per gallon and a gallon will only cover 25,500 sq. ft. so it would cost me a fortune. Thanks for your reply. Pike

J Pike; as Russ said you won' t be killing any grass with 2,4 D. There won' t be any dandelions but the grass will still be there. I' d wait untill I had to right material before wasting my time spraying something that won' t do the job.

You could just cut the grass for now to try to keep the seed heads from forming.

try some of the hardware store chains or any place a farmer or rancher would shop for supplies. here in the midwest, there is Orcheln' s. they have a generic 41% roundup (glyphosate) for $39 a gallon. it' s basically the same as roundup pro. you don' t want to use 2,4 d. btw, Orcheln' s has it for about $15/gallon.

the generic stuff is made by a company called Gordon' s Farm. Here is a link where you can find dealers that might be close to your area...

psandhu, Thanks for the info and the link!!! there are 2 Gordon' s dealers in my area.
Dan, thanks for the reply also!! I definately do not want to drive 5 hours each way to use something that isnt going to do the job and then have to make an extra trip to respray it. Pike
