i live in middle tennessee. i hunt big woods. i thought to my self if i could clear out a place in the woods. i went in the woods and cut small trees down and a lot of undergrowth.it was clean in the woods now.i have already had a salt lick here.well i heard about imperial no plow, just throw the seeds on the ground and it grows ,no need for a tractor or four wheeler.just needs 3 hours of sunlight and water , i planted in spring. it is july now, there is clover and all kinds of other clover, rye grass, in the woods, i thought the seeds would not grow. but it did it is 6 inches tall. we have hade a lot of rain all spring and summer so far.that helped.there is deer visting my sight now. imperial no plow works. i say it will be a good deer season.

bobcat, I think I' m going to try some,, how big an area did you clear? and did
you have to hand rake to the dirt, like rake up old leave' s, and kind of just scratch
up the dirt a little? and do you think it' s to late in the summer to do it now?
thank' s

40 yards wide 35 yards long big circle.i did not have to rake the leaves just throw out the seeds they will eventually just grow.YOU NEED TO TRY TO CATCH a good rain.go ahead and throw the seeds out but make sure it will rain. make sure you clear all the underbrush with clippers or cutters.cut down small scrub trees. cut limbs out of the way where it will not effect your shooting lanes. all the seeds need is 3 hours of sunlight and little rain.it will grow.it will take a few weeks to see a diffence.the way you will notice is a real fine small clover, rye grass it will tell you the seeds on the bag .but for best results plant in the fall like in first of september.main thing is catch a rain.and also put a salt lick out whene you throw out your seeds go ahead a get your deer pattern to come to that site .it works. i have shot deer in my salt lick before.once your no plow grows the deer will find it.and plus the deer will like to come to a open area.

bobcat, thank' s i' ve got the perfect place for it, been eyeballing this little natural
clearing for some time and I think this could be the ticket, and posibly bring in more doe, during the rut,, it cant hurt,, I set out a salt block on the corner of
my lawn 2 year' s ago, and after about a month it disappeared, it killed all the grass in a 4' circle, the deer have a hole dug there a foot deep now, and come
to it every day, just to root around in the dirt? or there' s still traces of salt there,
who know' s, just like watching deer every day
