I have enough room in the middle of my property for about a 1/4 ac. plot. The woods starts in the corner of a alphalpha field that is not mine and really doesnt attrackt dear after the first two weeks of the season.
My problem is I have no clue what to plant for food for them once fall hits only I hunt in an metro zone so the deer are in high concentrations of small woods but they move from woods to woods at night through fields. There are corn fields but they dont hit thoes till late since they are a mile from any cover.
What can I plant to keep deer on my land which is about 25 acers on a river in fall before the rut.

Wheat, oats and rye are good ideas. Since its only 1/4 acre, you may want to try some type of forage brassica that gives the highest yeild per acre.Since you say you're wanting deer around in the fall..Brassicas become attractive to deer when the first frosts hit. I'm trying forage turnips mixed with rape this fall, we'll see how it goes...
Good luck, have fun
