I heard today that some of the popular herbacides, I think Garlon and Chopper are among them, have started being available as generics. Prices are less than half of the name brands........

Garlon, which is what I use to spray fence rows and brush, has a replacement that I recently purchased. Its called Tryclopyr ( i had to find the receipt to know how to spell it
) At my local co-op Garlon was $289 for 2.5 gal, and the Tryclopyr is $195 for 2.5 gal.
There might be cheaper alternatives, if so, do tell

I was talking to a contractor that sprays timberland for IP, Plum Creek, Gilman and other companies yesterday. He said the generic prices were cheaper this year, I'm waiting on a call with a quote on having some older pines understory sprayed this summer..
