RE: round up question
The last time I bought any from the co-op it was about 120 bucks a gallon. I' m sorry I can' t remember the application rate but it will go a long way. Cheaper to buy the concentrate than pre-mixed stuff. terry

RE: round up question
I checked with Southern States last week and was told 1 gal. would cover 4 acres and cost $129.95, he said for $10.00 more, $139.95 you could get 2 1/2 gal. which would cover 10 acres. Does not have a certain shelf life as long as you don' t let it freeze.
The plot I' m going to burn down is 4-5 acres, am going to buy the 2 1/2 gal. and give the unused to the farmer that I lease from for spraying it for me.

RE: round up question
ditto what jkt said. i could buy roundup (or a generic) for about 70 or 80 bucks a gallon, but for about 20 or 30 dollars more i could buy 2.5 gallons.
this was a 41% concentrate of glyphosate, which is basically roundup pro. if you buy the generics (like honcho) they do NOT come with surfactants in it. you can add your own to the mixture if you want. (surfactant = a few oz of dishwahing liquid per quart of concentrate).
2.5 gallons will cover 10.0 acres with a 1.5% solution of the mix. it' s basically one quart per acre, mixed in with about 15 gallons of water. a 2% solution will kill most vegetation that is about 6" is shorter.

RE: round up question
I just bought 2.5 gallons of generic round-up called gly-star. It costs 80$ and has the exact same ingredients as round- up. The mixing rate is the same as well. I bought mine from a fruit growers co-op.
