I just purchased this feeder a week ago: http://www.wildviewcam.com/HTML/225lb_collapsable.html
The spinner plate is adjustable but the instructions don't say why or what adjusting it does. You can move it up or down, does anyone know why you can do this?

It's probably to accomodate different sized grains/pellets. A larger food nugget would require the plate to bemoved down.

Ok here goes, the feeder itself is gravity fed. You raise or lower the plate one based on the size of the feed and two it has to be as high as possible to keep the feed from all falling out. There will be a small pile that sits on the plate. too low and it all gravity feeds out.

Looks like you put a piece of carpet under the feeder, that should with keeping a mudhole from forming. If you want your corn to scatter over a larger area you can take a piece of aluminum flashing about 1" x 2" and make a wing you can mount it to the spinner in the middle so it will scatter it better.

Not carpet, concrete! The legs are burried in concrete pillers 1 1/2 ft deep too. There is a cage around the feeder to keep the coons out which cuts down onthe distance so the flashing would not help much.
