Hey if you cut wheat before it gets tall and seeds out, will it keep growing. I use wheat alot of times as a filler on my bigger food plot and once it gets tall and stalky they dont like it as much, I wanted to cut it to extend it life cycle.

If you are going to seed that area with wheat again this fall, I would let it go to seed and let it sit until this fall when you're ready to plant again...then just mow it down and lightly disc it or just lightly disc it without mowing. I'd throw in some Austrian winter peas for good measure as well.

Cutting it won't extend it's life enough to be worth your trouble. If you aren't using beardless wheat, you should. Deer stay on it a lot longer, and will even eat the heads off it when it matures if times are lean. Just regular Russian beardless is my favorite for wildlife. For cropland, it doesn't yield as well as the semi-dwarf varieties, but for forage, it can't be beat. It grows tall and produces a lot of forage, and also is fairly slow maturing. Compared to some of the other varieties I've planted, it can be up to three weeks slower to mature.
