I once saw an ad for some type of wooden box that you set up over feed that would knock off loose antlers. I am trying to find it or build one myself. Can anyone help?.

I have taken 4 metal poles and drove them in the ground leaving them up about 2 foot making a square. I then take a fine wire and wrap around the poles 5 wraps and then criss cross back and forth between the poles several times. Then i bate it with corn and wait. Go back in about 2 weeks and there they are. The bucks will get the antlers hung in the wire while trying to feed.

Couldn't that be considered a snare? What if the antlers aren't ready to fall off? Then you have a buck dead because it couldn't get it's head free...

The best way I have found is just to walk around and find them. Setting traps takes a lot of the fun out of it IMO. Use the good trails, especailly the ones with thick brush and hopefully you'll find some. Good luck.

i got 7 sheds out of it last year. I have never had a deer hung up in it before and this is my 3rd year of doing it.
