To bait is to lure or entice, so anything you put out there could be construed as bait. Check with one of your local game wardens. Planted food plots should be legal, but a gung ho possum police in theory could get you for one of them, although it isn't likely.

Try cmere deer attractant. I tried it for the first time this fall and watched a doe chew on a small sappling that I had sprayed with the stuff 2 wks prior.

Corn is the only thing that is illegal? That's weird. What state are you in?

Try using peanutbutter or vanilla on a scent wick. It will be to little of an amount to be conscider bait.

C'mere deer and peanut butter are both classified as bait. A game warden told me one time that one kernel of corn in a field will get you a ticket.

The best deer attractant is a property with everything that they require...food, water, cover and space. What can your tell us about your property?
