has anyone ever planted sugar beets as a fall food plot? I was thinking of adding a strip between some buck forage oats to see what happens.

Never Beets - only because I haven't had the seed available before - sounds like it might be a good mix with Turnips.

Here's a closeup from today of aTurnip Form My June Planted - Clover Miniplot. The turnips were leftover from last yeat in the plot - not many made it through the spraying/disking - but those that did are HUGE.

I mixed about 1 lb of beet seeds in 2 of my plots, 1/2 in with some full draw, and 1/2 inn with some maximum. The maximum is overseeded in a soybean patch. My final plot will be strips of Buck Forage Oats in a soybean patch. Then it is time to hunt!

I added a lb of beet seed to 2 of my plots, 1/2 in a plot of Full Draw, 1/2 in a plot of maximum which was overseeded in a bean patch. My final plot will go in the ground next weekend, buck forage oats overseeded in a bean patch.

Where did you get the Beet Seed? Did you order it online or get it somewhere around here?

FH, I ordered it from Gurneys online. I had a bunch of couponsin addition toa $25 off sale, soI went for it. I'll let you know how it turns out.
