Default ? on planting chufa

I've got some chufa seed ordered but don't know much about where to plant it. Would it grow in the woods with little sunlight, or maybe in between corn rows on the edge of a field? Any info would be appreciated. We are finally getting some turkeys back in our area and I would like to try and keep them around.

For as much as I've been involved with habitat management projects in my area and as many plots as I've planted myself, I've NEVER seen or planted a Chufa plot? This isa plantingthat certainly has me curious? Is it truly a turkey "super" plot? Just what kind of expectations can we have with this planting? I'm also looking forward to any feedback?

I had a conversation withthe game warden who is a turkey hunter. He said it is a turkey magnet and it makes killing a turkey really simple by comparsion. I have avoided planting it because of his statement. But I am tempted to try it one year. My club members have asked me to plant it, however it doesn't do well in the soil on the club lease.
