RE: Homemade Deer Feeders???????
Well if you want simple. Get a bucket, any size we usually just use a 5 gallon. Cut a hole in the bottom about 1" wide in the middle. Get a plunger and place it in the bucket through the hole with the plunger sticking up. Hang from treee. The wind will blow corn out, the deer will see it at hit the stick causing more to come ouyt.
Not a good if you get a ruttin buck under there, the corn will go FAST. We dont use it unless we need to.

homemade der feeder ?
Could you tell me how the motor works. I figure you use a photo cell since it comes on in the morning and at night. How long does the motor run? If you have any i=direction on how to build this I would appreciate it................ Thanks joe

It uses a pickle barrel and holds 300# of corn. The barrel has a recessed top so you need a cover. I had a buddy make one out of sheet metal. The hanger is piece of galv. pipe. I use wire cable and a hoist to get it off the ground. You will need a stool with a hole in it for the spinner, so the weight is not on the spinner when filling the feeder.
If you have bears around, it needs to be off the ground at least 8 feet.[/QUOTE]
