who topdressed this fall?

Just curious, I usually topdress clover in the spring, but understand that many do it in the fall. Since P&K are relatively imobile in the soil, it makes sense to fall topdress, but I always seem to run out of time and money.

I did it this fall. Someone on this board suggested to do it and I did. Nobody here has given me a bum steer yet, and my clover looks good now. terry I thought it was maybe your sugestion. I consider you to be one of the main guru on on allllll this stuff.

Hey farm hunter,
How did you and your cousin make out opening day? Did you get one of your "quality deer"? Too bad TM Sr. couldn't make it up from FLA. I'll probably talk to your cousin this week to see how you guys did. Just wanted to say hi. It's been a while since we've met. It's been a couple of years since your Cousin brought me up to the farm to hunt. You guys sure have a "honey hole" up there. I've only been out on the opener. Just saw flat tops. I plan on getting out this weekend and all next week. We're attepmting some QDM on our hunting property, so I will probably be picking your brain some.talk to you more later. Good luck this season.

How have you been? Its funny to hear from someone you "know" on the board. Hope you'll stick around, maybe come up again with Terry sometime. Lots of changes since last time you were up.
Opening day was tough with the weather, one buck was taken, 6 point, Two mature does were taken on Tuesday. There's still lots of time. No monsters.......yet.
Check out the pics from opening day around Noon - I'll post elsewhere as well, - trees were falling all around, visibility was LIKE ZERO where the deer were.

you can email me at [email protected] - if you want to chat.

Sean,
Good to hear back from you. I sent you an email via your RR address. I'll send you some pictures of our deer. My neighbor put up a deer cam next to one of our food plots. We even got a great pict of a visit from a 400+lb bear!!! Not sure what I'd do if I had him in my crosshairs!!! I'd need a really good shot, since I've only got one chance with with my Contender!

Farm Hunter, I am no farming expert, but my local seed adn fertilizer buddy recommends using 8-24-24 in the fall on clover. The idea is the p&k tend to promote root growth in clover and then come spring it is ready to take off as it warms up. Maybe that will help explain it.

Hey Farmhunter, nice pictures. Looks a lot like my neck of the woods. Temp. here has been in the single digits. Took a very nice doe and still have two tags left. terry
