IS IT SAFE...
We planted six semi dwarf apple trees this past spring. Is it safe to spray the area around them with round up to kill off the unwanted grass and weeds? The trees seem to be doing vey well at this time. Is over spray something you have to be worried about? Thanks

It probably wouldn't hurt to spray the vegetation anyway. Just put a piece of PVC pipe over the tree before you spray around it. As long as Roundup doesn't get on foliage you are ok. If nothing else, there won't be vegetation around the treeto provide cover for mice and/or rabbits.
