CANT FIND HUNTING LAND/LEASE/CLUB, NEED HELP
hey,
i am having trouble finding good, or any, hunting land/leases in Md. I dont really like public land but i have no other land to really hunt turkey + deer + whatever. I was wandering how you guys, your friends and families go about finding hunting land - either for lease, hunting clubs, exhanging farm work for hunting privilieges . I really hate public land, i feel like im the one being hunted with all the competetion, it sort of isnt safe. anyways, please post a reply or send an email ([email protected]) and help me out, i would really appreciate it.

Start asking around.
Who has good forrested property? What's their contact info, and just send the random joe property owner an email or phone call. Tell them you are interested in seeing if he will consider leasing his property to a hunt club. Reassure owners that they have little liability, you will carry insurance (it's cheap) and you will post the property, remove trash, ect. as a favor.
Call local foresters, loggers, ect. See places they might know of, they will also have a list of contact information from land owners that they might have logged in years past.
Best of luck, all I can say is, ASK ASK ASK. Can't hurt to ask your neighbor.

If you are on a drive and notice a bunch of good looking land, try and get an address, then that should lead to contact info.
You can go to the local courthouse, or records office and get property maps, plots, ect.
Like I said, ask around, you must know of someone or someplace with some land. You can also look online at property information. This will tell you how much land each lot has on a certain street, land maps, tax info (if you want to be noosy) The website is from the State of Maryland and you can access it here:
http://sdatcert3.resiusa.org/rp_rewrite/index.asp
Like I said, find a backroad that looks like it has good property. Then use the site to enter in the road name in the correct county. This should lead you to owners names, addresses, land information and map (top right)
It will ask for street number and street name. You can just enter the street name and get a list of all properties on that specific street. Best of Luck.
